There you go again, calling me an alcoholic.....none of the ale touches my lips, cos I pull my lips out of the way, so the booze hits my teeth and not my lips on its way down my throat..........  Tom

Hi Bob R, glad it was another success. For those of us unable to attend, how about giving us any info on the night, ie,  numbers attending, names of guys we would remember, any interesting "goss" or speeches, even what the food was like ! John (JKW)

John mmmmm were to start . Absentees,Gordy Bone ,Tony Riley ,Tom Coates ( Tom owes me a pint)  ,Roy Pritchard ,John Shirley ... health was the biggest problem with them ?? There was about 70/80 attendees,Colin Bithels family turned out in numbers ,loads from the Welsh hills ,even 2 guys ex REME from Tidworth/Detmold /Chester days now in the late 70's from Swansea/ Lincolnshire.( I knew the face but names ????) The buffet from what I seen was a good spread and went down well.Music mmmm I'll be kind there wasn't any,but we were promised for the next dooo ( thank F I left my dancing shoes at home ) John as I stayed at the bar most of the night except when dragged over to a table . Yes on the hole it was a good night ,Dick Hill can give names as he was collecting for the branch ,so recorded names .. Hotels both myself and John Evans stayed near the railway station, been there now for the last 3 years ,cheap and cheerful.

Thanks for that Bob. 70 / 80 is a great attendance figure, but as you say, with the passage of time, health can become a deciding factor for many wanting to attend. I know what you mean about putting names to faces - funny how I can remember a face, but putting a name to it is a nightmare these days ! John (JKW)

Thanks to Bob for the names too  - they certainly stir the memory banks, in fact having seen your list I can put faces to 90% of them so I'm not too doolally yet ! John (JKW)
