Cricked Necks !

September 28, 2017

I reckon we're turning into a nation of "cricked necked" people ! Why ? The other day whilst perusing the book shelves at WH Smith I had to twist my head over my shoulder to read the book titles lined up, spines facing outward - DVD's the same, and it's not just WH Smith of course, most of them stack 'em this way to cram as many as possible on each shelf. I have noticed Tesco's seem to display most of their books front cover facing out, much easier to see !  Then we've got today's "yoof" walking along with heads angled down looking at the phone screen, again getting cricked necks, and with dusk fast approaching, their faces take on a ghostly appearance with the screen's illumination. Much more of this "cricked neck" syndrome & we'll need neck collars like the chemist has in Doc Martin !! John (JKW)

John good observation, but you forgot the generation of extended THUMBS!!, yes wherever you go restaurants, bars, shopping centres and public transportation they're there going like the clappers texting on the phone/ tablet. Me it takes all my time with a stylus to get a text or have access to my phone list ,I thought thumbs were for opening a bottle or holding on to your steering wheel ,which people with extended thumbs don't when TEXTING on their phones . The other modern generation is the "back to front "BASEBALL hat ,I'm still trying to work that one out ,wasn't it simpler when all we did was hold up the bar ???

Cricked Necks !

This craze of constant use of mobile phones will cease to annoy those of us who only use them when absolutely necessary and will be fixed  when the manufacturers come up with "Inside the Brain" Technology type phones  in the near future. And then we will not be having collisions with the "cannot stop talking on mobile in hand" users  who cannot see where they are walking  (with head down) in the world. That of course assumes that North Korea have not started lobbing huge nuclear bombs everywhere, cos then all bets are off.
