Tom mate I missed you this weekend,l relize I don't know what went on and to be honest I don't care, you wore our cap badge with pride and honour enough to gain promotion. Life s to fuckin short to allow what my dad would say "" sticks and stones ""to affect your association with this regimental website. It's your decision but you'll always be my friend whatever your actions maybe.........regards Bob Riley

Tom, It's a sad day when someone gets you down that much you feel the need to resign. I too have no idea who/what/why led you to that decision, but do know that if it was anything to do with Dickie's funeral, then the accusers are bang out of order. I truly felt the whole day was organised & managed very efficiently, from informing us all of the time/venue etc,  to arranging the piper, church, and actual service, including the printed Order of Service, and the "wake" in the Royal Standard. I realise that you personally did not do all this yourself, but do know you were involved every step of the way - for that, I thank you, and know others will be grateful too. There's an old saying -"Don't let the bas*ards get you down" - it applies to you, so don't cut off your nose to spite your face (another old saying), square your shoulders & rescind your resignation, otherwise we'll miss you and your scatty "postings" on the Forum ! John (JKW - former Carabinier & SCOTS DG)

John and Len, Many thanks for your support, but in all fairness, I can not give you the full details, it has been the work of others who want me out of the way, with childish tricks, in no uncertain terms. I have always served the Branch and Regiment properly and honestly, and would have continued to do so if certain people who should know better, had not created the situation I reacted to. They were childish to say the least. You can if you wish, email me, at any time, where I will be free from onlookers out to create mayhem, and tell the true tale. Tom

Many thanks to you all for your support, I am overwhelmed by it!! I am awaiting a message that agrees that I can stay on in an inactive part with the Association, but I will never again grasp a task and see it through to completion, due to ill thought out critisism from those who should know better. I have always fought for justice when it is necessary, for any member. I can not see me carrying on without endorsement from higher ground!!. Tom

Archie, Well just make sure you are wrapped up warm, cos it will be (almost used a swear word there!)  pretty cold and windy up there!!! Before the forces, our little climbing and trekking group enjoyed Tryfan, in Ogwen valley, better than  Sn0wdon, only because half way up overlooking the  Ogwen valley there is a fractured bit of rock leaning away from the rockface, which we in our daredevil bit, used to crawl up, and then stand up on the end of it. Bloody mad, I know, but at the time we had no fear. (all the opposite now though!!) The girlfriend at the time said if I did it again she would personally push me off with her  ramblers pole. Yet I am still alive... And on the top, we used to jump from Adam to Eve which were two big upright rocks almost too far apart to manage. Great fun. And that was where I first met Ronnie Kimpton, well before I joined 3DG, he lived in Bethesda down towards Bangor.  And Idwal Slabs were great fun too!  Happy days.. Tom
