Food for thought ???

November 21, 2016

Not wishing to nitpick Bob, but we have a small handful of subs, no aircraft carriers, a navy that is so depleted it cannot defend our coastline let alone our territorial waters, we have a couple of hundred panzers that allegedly cannot pierce the armour of the latest Russian ones, a hundred or so fighter aircraft  and that's about it really. The MOD seems to place its reliance on technology and "wonder weapons" like the new build carrier under construction when answering criticisms of our depleted defence capability. Sadly, we have neither, not enough of the big hit weapons or technology and not enough boots on the ground to hold ground even if we could take it. I don't get heated about it because recent events in my life have given me a different set of priorities, I am just saddened and resigned  to it I guess. Hope you are well and enjoying life, you always sounds as if you are lol.

Food for thought ???

just a quickie;   you are 12 years old, your hormones are running riot, when in class at school, the lesson is history, outside the sun is shining the teacher is droning on about Agincourt, looking out the window you can see the girls playing netball, and another class playing 5 a side. It would have been a more interesting lesson if he had said the following, due to delays in taking Harfleur and the forced march along the river etc, the majority of Henry 5ths  army had a form of dysentery. Travelling light so to speak in the clothes that you stood up in Henry positioned his archers in trenches on the rising ground. Do not leave the trench today or all will be lost, the archers therefore made a ledge in the wall of the trench, remember DYSENTRY, The archers took off their pants /leggings and placed them on the ledge. The battle commenced, the English were victorious. the battle was fought by archers with no pants/leggings on naked from the waist down. Now that is an interesting, funny but true history lesson. An aside, it was after this battle that any archer captured by the French had his middle and forefingers cut off so he could no longer draw the bow, all other archers then showed the French the V sign meaning I still have my fingers, corrupted through time into eff off.
