One of the best not mentioned so far, was "The Army Game", with Snudge, Bernard Bresslaw, Alfie Bass etc - I can picture 'em now, 8.30 on a Friday night, brilliant entertainment - I'm sure it's what made me join up !! John (JKW)

having not seen are you being served I thought it was not to bad, would have to see another episode or two , too make a fair observation, the porridge  was not as good as the original, but once again you have to give the writers a chance to update the material , I watched the programme after it and saw the interview with Ronny Barker after hearing him say he had a preference for the alternative programme offered, BUT it goes to show what did I know, the writers also said in some shows the actor/comedian grow into the show and makes it their own. It was nice to hear David Jason give the credit where it was due. Yes John it was The Army Game I think the second or third series was called BOOTSIE + SNUDGE couldn't swear to that though.  Did Bill Fraser played Snudge ??

Ok Alfie Bass and Bernard Bresslau were the other stars of the "Army Game" .Now we've the new faces doing what Ronnie Barker and Richard Beckensale Molly Sugden etc characters that made you laugh from the off ,I suppose it's like everything you can't beat the original actors ,I know Hollywood are at it all the time with new faces doing what was a hit back when ....there's even a new Ben Hur movie Charlton Heston must be turning in his grave . Surely the writers / producers of entertainment tv/ movies/books have to give us the paying public some new or are we just going to rehash the hits "" Star Wars "" mk 99 or Riddick 55   ??????? Rambo /Robocop or Exterminator to name a few

One not mentioned so far is "It A'int Half Hot Mum". with the Forces entertainment group in the jungle, with native punkka wallah and co, as well as the foppish Brit entertainment group. Good clean (?) Brit humour, with Sergeant calling everybody " Lovely Boy".. they do not make them like that any more!!
