An unbelievable match - at 2-0 down I feared a real drubbing ("Oh ye of little faith JKW"), but a fightback of epic proportions, helped in a massive way by the fans tremendous support, ensured I (and many others) had a blissful nights sleep ! What a performance by the mighty Reds, it ranks with the greatest of European nights at Anfield, almost on a par with Istanbul '05, in fact EQUALLY so if we get to, & win, the Final. How apt too, that the final Hillsborough Memorial Service was held today, the day after that magnificent win versus Dortmund - divine intervention ? The future's bright, the future's Jurgen !  YNWA John (JKW)

I was very much moved by the way the Dortmund fans behaved at the match, especially when they all took a very moving part in singing "You'll Never Walk Alone", in English, and also moved by the German lady commentator from Dortmund at the match who was so moved by the song that she was crying throughout the singing. Several Dortmund fans also attended the service on Sunday, and again were truly respectful throughout. I just hope that LFC have contacted the Dortmund team to thank them for their fans respect and singing throughout. It was much more respectful than ANYTHING the Man U scum come up with. My second team now is no longer Sunderland (where I was born ) but Dortmund. A lesson for all fans from other teams to copy..... It is a pity it was not the final, that would have been amazing. Thank you Dortmund!!!

As the old saying goes "That's the way to do it!!!"  "LFC 3 The Others 1" And no players were bitten, kicked, spat at, punched or otherwise maltreated on either side. But there must be something about the name SUAREZ that reminds me of the woofters of  the present players (???) of Chelsea and Tottenham, or  "Tottingham" as the 2 Argentinian Spurs players called their team years ago...When Spurs were a good team. Well done LFC, the game was fair and good except for that guy  (another Suarez....., wearing yellow tonight) Switzerland will be a good place for the upcoming final....

A fantastic result last night, the performance of our great team matched only by the support & behaviour of both sets of fans - brilliant ! I walked past the gates of Melwood on Wednesday when Jurgen was giving his Press Conference inside - there was a TV van outside with a satellite dish on its roof the size of a house, and a photographer was going inside with a camera lens attached which was the size of a wheelie bin - he could probably have taken a pic of Blackpool pier with that from Melwood ! What a pity though that such a small stadium, capacity approx 30,000, in Basel is hosting the Final - LFC fans alone could have filled that. It not only deprives the fans of seeing the game "live", it's also inviting mega problems both inside & outside the ground. Don't the organisers (I use the term loosely) ever learn ? Holding a major European Final in a ground the size of Stoke City's defies logic, and is not only unfair to genuine supporters of both Clubs, but shows a complete lack of thought and consideration for the fans. Tongue in cheek comment first: Perhaps it is all down to the Swiss authorities and the Swiss FA  throwing rattle out of pram because they would love to have a team of theirs in the final, so they could go to a proper full sized stadium elsewhere in Europe? Or am I being unkind to them? Whatever happens, the match itself should be a cracker. Real comment now..... Small grounds have just as much atmosphere as the big stadia we and many other countries have as a matter of course, so the game itself will no doubt be end to end, at times manic, but we true Reds will enjoy watching it all. So long as neither side try to play the way Spurs and Chelsea played the other day, looked more like throwing out time at any one of the nightclubs and bars throughout UK..... Let us all enjoy a great match, no matter which side is the winner, since both sides will definitely want to win, and win through their overall play, and good sportsmanship. (As long as the winners wear a RED shirt......) As an aside, after leaving the Forces, our family and 2 friends went skiing for several years to Villars, in Switzerland, renting a chalet way up the top of the mountain, overlooking a town way down in the valley, where we had a view of the soccer ground down below. All we could see was the tiny square of the pitch, the floodlights on, and little ants dashing up and down the 1 inch by 3 inch ground. But if we used binos, we could even see the little dot that was the ball, the kids thought we were more than a bit mad.... Loads of snow, double loads of wine, lager, 2 cartons of Tetleys best, (each!!) no end to the fun. We never in all those years knew which teams won the matches, but that was not important....

And I agree with you thoughts wholeheartedly John, both teams could fill any ground with thousands more than this little ground holds!!!

I have not said anything about the match until now, since I found it difficult to believe!! But now I find it only too true, LFC were not even capable of beating a one legged 105th choice team never mind the under sixes team. Urgent surgery from now, with many changes. They seem to be unable to deal with someone scoring a goal against them, as if they consider it Non U. They looked like they had been paid to lose. Klopp will have a busy summer now, but how did so many of LFC players suddenly get leaden feet, too big for the boots they wore. Something is wrong in Soccerland. And why did they forget that they have been vulnerable to the first few minutes of most second halfs they have played this year. Klopp will now crop a lot of them. LFC need 2 very strong players who can drive the team for not only 2 halfs, but 3. Then they need 2 goalies and 4 backs. But there again, they may NEVER lose the plot like this ever again. I know it is a game of 2 halfs, but can LFC have 2 first halfs ever game??  And forget a 2nd half. Thought not.... cos that would total 3 halfs.... Non U that.
