Hi - I am trying to trace details re my grandfather's brother
Lt William Barr Clelland Danks - I believe he was a Vet and a member 1939-45
Does any one have any information for this period and in particular Lt Danks?
Regards

David, unless I am hugely mistaken I very much doubt any members on this site will be able to help you much. Anyone who might have served with your grandfather's brother would be aged between 80 -85 at least. Have you tried any of the official war record sites etc? It will likely cost you a subscription to make enquiries but you will find definitive records on him there. Good luck.

Good to see a new Member making use of the Forum (joined today!) As WW2 ended 72 years ago sadly we are looking for chaps who are mid 90s I imagine. I pointed David to www.Gov.uk and then put service record in search box. Cost is £30 other than for close family ie Father/Son. Freddy
