Well put Bob, in our Detmold days we knew about the ruskies but only saw them on border patrols, one Red, and his German sidekick. From the ways things are panning out over Brexit et al, the good thing is that the EU are threatening a lot of problems for UK which they have no chance of using against us EVER, and I welcome the news that even the huge band of EU idiots are at loggerheads with each other. And their claim for Billions of 'you rows' is against their own rules. So let us now leave the EU ship Loadacrap and steer to warmer, more welcoming climes all over the real world.....  PS has the N Korean boss sent any more of his little missiles in the last few days? None seem to go very far, do they? Ho Hum...

May 5th was my joining day Bob, but to Junior Leaders Regiment in Bovington, in '62. Had to travel from Liverpool Lime Street , on the Tube through London, and then down to some train station called "Wool". Quite how I got through London amazes me - I'd not been further than New Brighton on my own before, & the 2 lads I palled up with (also Bovy bound) on the train were from N. Ireland, and knew as much about the Underground as me! Aged 15, clasping a battered old suitcase with a bar of Pears soap ("you're not shaming me by taking your Lifebouys carbolic" said my Mum), the world, from that moment on, became a wholly different place for me. Regrets ? Not one, loved every one of the following 25 years as a squaddie. John (JKW)
