My Wish List For The Next Tory Government.

April 20, 2017

1) Revoke the Act that requires us to pay 0.7% of GDP to overseas aid, then stop it all together until we can genuinely afford to give money to other countries who won't corruptly embezzle it and we aren't depriving our own people by doing so.

2) Equip and man the Armed Forces to a level that is commensurate with the huge dangers we face globally from terrorism, from rogue states such as North Korea and from despotic warmongers like Putin.

3) Sort out the NHS. Recognise it cannot be all things to all men (and women) unless it is better run, better funded and rid of its wasteful practices. If that means a slight increase in taxes to fund it to a level that makes it safe, responsive to needs and keeps it abreast of advances in medical science then have the balls to do so.

4) Clear out the House of Lords and replace it with a second elected assembly if need be.The nation is fed up of watching fat, gouty old farts who mostly have a pervading smell of urine about themselves sleeping through 'debates' to claim their £300 daily attendance allowance. Quite apart from the total lack of democracy that allows these backsides to stymie an elected Parliament's bills.

5) Head butt that nasty, vindictive and spiteful Krankie woman into oblivion. She is the most treacherous snake to emerge in our Kingdom since  records began!

David you've thought well on what the next government need/ could do once in office . Me ,well with what has happened in London,Paris and other parts of the civilised Europe,I like to put another iron in the fire . Listing these attacks the one thing that jumps out ,the vast majority are known to the security/police ,some even have been in prison ,being radicalisation when there. What's my idea ,if your on the list your out of the country, banned from ever coming back ,and if I played the Trump card if they returned "shot on sight" drastic yes ,would it bring results ,don't know . But when the next incident happens and some poor bastard is killed/injured and the perpetrator is known to have been on a list, you'll then will get vigilante actions by the public ,again the innocent people will be harmed terrorised ,just because they are of a certain religion. Yep if you want to live here there will be consequences if you're radical.

I can already discount point 1. TM has apparently already confirmed her intention to continue spending 0.7% of GNI on foreign aid. I am entirely displeased by that announcement. I hope she realizes I am not the man to mess about with. Not if she wants to win this election. I might consider voting Lib/Dem if she disregards my other 4 points. Tiny Tim wants my vote!

Yes, I too, was VERY disappointed with the PM's intention to maintain the 0.07% of GDP contribution for Overseas Aid. Also disappointed that no confirmation that the Triple Lock for us pensioners was made - she must surely not be so confident on winning as to ignore the "silver surfers" vote ? Corbyn immediately pronounced to his assembled fanatics that he WOULD guarantee the Triple Lock. Hammond, speaking in the USA, hinted indirectly that he'd like "the flexibility" to increase taxes, NI & VAT.  I concur wholeheartedly with your remaining 4 points David, but if this is the way TM & her Cabinet are thinking ( foreign aid, ignoring pensioners, tax / VAT hikes), I fear for their chances of a landslide victory, indeed, I'm already having second thoughts myself ! In the Tory's favour, I could NEVER vote for Corbyn or that mealy mouthed Farron, even UKIP are a spent force now Farage has left the domestic scene, so maybe TM will get the result she needs (& until today, I felt she deserved). Corbyn is such a nice fellow. Realising TM was losing a bit of ground with her probable tax increases, commitment to the 0.7% of GNI to overseas aid etc he valiantly, some might sat gallantly, stepped up to the mark and diverted the whole media onto himself. He would never use our nuclear deterrent, he would only ever issue orders to Trident sub Captains saying 'await further orders', he would never authorise a drone attack on a known ISIS leader, BUT he would give us an extra 4 bank holidays a year, he's not sure about Brexit, he probably would  borrow  £tens of billions more, he is sure about renationalising all transport systems though, he does believe everyone should leave Assad alone and he is looking even more unelectable with each passing day. God save Jeremy Corbyn, greatest friend the Tories ever had,a national institution, which is where he should be!!!!!

Up in Scotland today he promised a minimum wage of £10 per hour, repealing trades union legislation designed to avoid too many strikes, better health for all, education improvements, etc, etc, but I never heard a sensible  word about his means of funding his pie in the sky policies. I listened to a fair chunk of his drivel, and failed to hear the "rapturous applause" that Sky News said he'd received, in fact despite his audience consisting of hard nosed Union delegates I truly thought it was at best "polite", & at worst "luke warm" applause. He also commented at the w/e that school class sizes were now too high, but failed to mention his Party's pro immigration policy of letting hundreds of thousands of foreigners into our country are the root cause of this over crowding in our schools. The man's a buffoon, but unfortunately has a great many equally buffoon followers who believe he's "the man" to lead our country - God help us ! John (JKW) PS TM had better commit to the Triple Lock, or similar, otherwise "ban the burka" UKIP might increase their vote-count !

Corbyn is committed to borrowing £tens of billions more. That's how he would pay for all his  pre election promises! Just what we need, destabilise the UK's global credit rating by vastly increasing the national debt, weaken the whole Brexit negiotiations, ruin trade deals with non EU countries.

Unfortunately there are a number of deluded people who will believe the " pandering to the popularist vote" route Corbyn is following, but hopefully the majority will see through his policies that have not been fully costed in any shape or form. I do believe though, that if TM ignores the silver voters by not continuing with the triple lock then she will not get the big majority this GE is all about. She will have potentially lost a fair few already by confirming her commitment to the foreign aid budget. John (JKW)

The triple lock manifesto pledge was predicated on pensions being protected by an annual 2.5% uplift or the rate of inflation or the rate of annual growth whichever was the highest. I understand plans are afoot already to ditch the 2.5 % bit of it and instigate a 'double lock' which, given current financial forecasts, will save the Government £billions annually. I never understand why the Tories always seem to contrive to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. May will win the election, of that there can be little doubt. But victory without a large majority is a hollow one because the status quo will prevail, as before,  with the rest of parliament holding her to ransom at every step. Brexit will become a tortuous, virtually unmanageable Trojan Horse.
