National Anthem

I just hope that Trump does NOT fire nuclear weapons at their U.S. stadiums and playing and support staff, but  we can only hope!! The problem is though that his forebears were from UK all those years ago, so I will not hold my breath...... he could blame us for the problem........

Young black men ARE responsible for a disproportionate amount of gang and drug crime in the US. That, however, is a separate issue to the mostly innocent young black guys being shot out of hand by white cops. It's racial profiling in the extreme. Just one recent example; 4 black kids of between 15-17, leaving a house party in a car, driving slowly down the road, none of  them had been drinking, no drugs, all from respectable families have a white cop pump a whole magazine of pistol ammunition into the back of their car killing a 15 year old and wounding two others. Cops murdering innocent young black men and kids is completely out of hand in the states and is tacitly condoned by the criminal justice system there who invariably find the few cops who are arraigned on murder charges not guilty. No one complains about the drug dealers being killed, the fleeing rapists, the crackhead burgulars etc it's the innocent people, killed because they are black. I have every sympathy with the mainly black athletes who kneel for the US anthem, I actually think the movement will continue to flourish and become a nation wide protest. There is a great deal wrong in black communities in America, much of it self inflicted, there are too many young black peoples who gave massive chops on their shoulders and think the world owes them a living but the country as a whole has a major race problem, there are huge divides, great swathes of white supremacist ethics that prevail in many parts of the country and the issue seems to be escalating. Finally, the removal of the confederate 'hero' statues is no bad thing. Confederacy was built on slavery, no ifs no buts, the whole ethos of it was based on white supremacy over blacks. You can't change history, you can't rewrite the history books and you can't turn back clocks but you can change the here and now and influence the future. The Americans are only now learning the lessons we learned many years ago. I would bet my cotton socks, in doing so, they will make the same mistakes and go from one extreme to the other. Such is life.
