Sterling will probably spend more time on the City bench than on his loo at home! The problem with all this is that he had the wrong adviser/agent, who was just in it to milk as much as he wanted, never caring about his customer Sterling. Rahim did not have anyone to tell him how to behave in all these dealings, because his adviser/manager was in it to line his own pocket. He got £2 million for getting Sterling to sign for City, and now I can not see any manager worth his salt having anything to do with Sterling, except showing him the way to the door. It is a shame, because with the right guidance he could become one of England and the world's best players.

I don't know anyone who thinks Sterling is / was worth £49million - on the other hand, don't know many who thinks Benteke is worth £32.5 million (apart from Tim Sherwood !). Just hope LFC can barter a couple of players in to the equation ( Lambert, Borini, Enrique ?) to lessen the actual fee. With regards Sterling, he's surely destroyed any good reputation he had as a footballer, the slightest error on (or off) the pitch will bring out the (accurate) cry of "Greedy, over hyped barstward" (or similar !). Mind you, his reported salary of £200k per week will buy a lot of laughing gas !! John (JKW)

Gents, The value of Sterling is a matter of his extremely greedy business manager, I agree that Sterling is well overvalued and overpaid, and that is down to his agent alone, yet he could definitely become an excellent player, but he must get a better agent, who realises that Stirling is NOT yet the finished article, and who sets up a better action plan for his progress. Since he is not the complete item yet, he must obey instructions from the City management and obey rather than question these instructions without question. There are many examples in the management teams of the English FA of how to get the best from their players, and the vast majority of their players accept these rules with regard to status, behaviour on and off the pitch, and their management and training staff. Stirling has yet to understand this basic rule. He must realise to himself that he is yet to learn an awful lot about himself,  his attitude, his fellow players and most of all his new management team. I have no doubt that if he fails to do this, he will spend his time at City sitting in the dugout, and/or cleaning others boots for many years. No manager wants a spoilt brat in the setup, so Sterling must behave as his team mates do. Lecture over!!!

Sorry Tom flags came into service after I left ...but there was a fella in B Sqn  Donn Tenn he was good on them but would always be in a black mood.Saturday the weekend yippee ,but being retired everyday is a Saturday, being a creature of habit we travel 25ks to buy the guardian at Tesco ,got to have one English paper a week .I see that diesel is the same or cheaper than petrol in the UK over here in the ex colony it's been 10 cents or so cheaper, your equivalent of 95/96 pence a litre .I was sitting outside this morning having the first cuppa and puff of my e-cig, I do that as I have fed our chickens and try to keep the crows off till they've had their fill,so we have ""the motorway "" passing about 3/4miles away,I didn't realise how noise traveled ,tyre noise especially, yuk.Big news too ,the sun is out ,well for the time being,so ""her who must be obeyed"" will have doing the heavy stuff around the garden, signing off byeee

Bob, Was Donn Tenn you mention the guy who joined the original company (GPO), which later became BT ? If so, he must have served in HM Forces when chariots were on the secrets list, and he is still at it - he invented the "BRICK" you know, the "brick" that he developed in the States as the first mobile phone. Trouble was it weighed about 4 stone , and was issued to us for trials when I joined IBM. We thought it was fabulous as a weapon but far too heavy to carry in a toolbox, so we, by accident , always seemed to have it nicked as soon as we left our toolbox open. After 3 years or so without said phone, IBM scrapped them, and issued us with 2 way radios in the car, but that failed as well, cos we could not get the car up the stairs or in the lift in companies we were servicing. Donn Tenn has a lot to answer for.....! I could tell you what IBM stands for among most old engineers, but not on here. I could send it in an email if you wish?

No Tom,D10 was the wire we used for our com devices I with tongue in cheek was being naughty ,talking of large phones or portable com devices pre miniaturised there was one suitcase (like) we carried in NI called the Ulster net .A small suitcase and the handset was full size on a cable, similar to the POTUS suitcase .(no H bomb) .When you consider most android mobile phones have so much computer power/memory than was used in the 60s to men on the moon,I remember visiting the computer room at Manchester uni ,it was /is a very large room with only a couple of megabytes. As in previous posts using modern technology is (for a person like me) something of a challenge to say the least,I watch my now 8 year old granddaughter moving round their  iPad/laptop but is having not fully completed her writing/mathematics skills, what happened to the three Rs ,oh I know progress!! Here's Sunday news it's fecking raining again

Bob, I don't know why but something tells me Tom knows what you meant apropos Don Tenne, even I as the original "I hate the tank park" admin wallah knew that from my B1 radio days. Re the feckin rain, if you choose to live in a puddle called Eire what do you expect, the scenery must compensate for it though!! Here in Lincolnshire it's no different, except the scenery isn't as pretty. Have a peaceful Sunday!
