I have not seen Sid for ages, but will try to see him this week, provided he is still living in his old house in Blacon. His son lives next to Sid's so I can askhim, and let you know.. Best regards and wishes for Christmas, Tom

Nice to see your still with us Bernie ,just a couple of weeks ago I got in touch with another guy from days gone by Mick Rehorn .To think today's the day we would all be in our best bib and tucker following the Standared to church to do our rememberance, complaining as squadies do , marching with guys who now no longer are here ,good mates such Colin . Now we remember him and what he did for us , so tomorrow night I'll raise a glass in his memory and the guys who aren't there to join us , got a trip to Landican for some personal rememberance see you all at the Club .

364 to go ,last was a pleasure to meet so many old friends I'm not going mention any names ,just to say thanks to all who attended . Note to the powers that be a little music would got the ladies swinging their hips as we attacked the bar or told tall stories of our time in the Regiment , 364 to go .

It is a pity that the parade to and from the cathedral was marred by the co** up caused by paperwork which changed the entire order of the parades to and fro. I had a pretty rough argument with the new garrison SM, who read from his bit of paper how the troops were to form up. It put the Old Comrades and our Standards not behind the band, but even 4 blocks back from there, and even behind all the cadet ranks. I and others had some discussion with the man, but he had been ordered to do it, despite a load of protests from many marchers. It was so bad at one time that we were not marching, we were skipping to try to keep in step, but that failed cos the cadets were being confused by the band, who were changing the pattern and speed of their playing. so the marchers at the front were bouncing along like Morris Dancers, through no fault of their own. Next year we will all be given skipping ropes the way this new garrison SM was NOT in control. God help us all if our Armed Forces have to go to war with HIM running the show. USSR sounds a pretty safe place to be with him around.(HIM being the garrison SM).

Nothing worse than being publicly embarrassed on parade, particularly marching in formations where half are out of step, the band keeps changing the tempo or the echo of it means you are half a pace behind, add in a load of kids being in front and it's a recipe for disaster. I can well understand your ire Tom, I know I am old and a bit out of touch nowadays but whenever I come across GSMs, RSMs and the like in today's modern army they never seem as smart, as confident, as "in charge" as they were in our days. JKW being a prime example of what I mean.

I suppose that he (GSM) has an excuse, since he is from the RE!! It was also his first ever effort at the job, as GSM. It was not just me complaining to him, several of our group, and other OCA personnel had a go at him about the mess, but he just waved his "piece of paper" like Chamberlain had before the world war 2 started anyway, and it tells how clever this guy is not....But he DID have his orders, on paper too.

Hi. Guy's . First off I would like to say a big THANK YOU for such a wonderful turn-out both at the Reunion and at the Parade the following morning.  It was lovely to see you all. Second, another big THANK YOU to the many people that brought raffle prizes.  I don't think we have ever had so many, everyone bought tickets and almost everyone won ! Well done, keep it up. I'm sure that we made a nice, few bob on the night for the North West Branch funds.  Cheers all.  See Ya Soon.
