What amuses me in all these US/UK movies is that when the US lady soldiers/FBI ladies fire their  massive weapons, MG, Rocket Launcher et al, there is no KICK back when they pull the trigger..... WHY???. The .303 certainly hurt my tender shoulder, AND I missed the target sometimes... OK I admit I may have been a wimp.... Tom

Yes, but unlike you, my great friend, who had to use "rock, 2 inch, round, 1.5 lb, enemy for the killing of"  BOOM BOOM.

To think it's August I want to know when is Summer going to happen , my garden is growing stupid in all this RAIN ,talk about the happy days of our youth when the sun always seemed to shine . Maybe a Cheyane Autumn  but I hold my breath .

True Tom ,but I've booked Goa again so I'm going to miss it . Yep I'll have to put with 30-40 degrees ,the bloody sea is 25 degrees ,even that's warmer than here . Top up with loads of vit D for the year , helps with the aches and pains of growing old ...

It's typically "Irish" weather we're having now - I remember during one 4 month tour in NI (Long Kesh & then Enniskillen) that it rained EVERY single day, not all day granted, but for at least for part of every day it rained - no wonder the grass is always green & it's called  the Emerald Isle ! My garden's now the same, lush green grass (growing like mad) but the daily heavy showers prevent me enjoying it, & mowing is a hit 'n' miss affair having to stop when the heavens open . Never mind, it'll soon be summer ! John (JKW) PS Remember when kids, the 6 week summer holidays were sunny every day ?  I spent 'em at New Brighton outdoor swimming baths, with a jam jar of water & jam butties !!

You had a jam jar of water and jam butties and went to a lido?  When I was a kid we swam in pothole puddles made by t'lorries that trundled past 'wer houses' we shared a farleys rusk we stole from babbie and licked dew off t'grass to quench our thirst. Monty Python stole our family circumstances to develop a very famous sketch many years later centred on a family living in a cardboard box on a roundabout lol!
