For some reason my note didn't publish, so will try again ! The way things are going, it seems that both Hollywood & Westminster will have only females as " major players" - it maybe the only way to cut down all the sleaze allegations ! John (JKW)

We are in the middle of Brexit, what should we do? Um, I know, let's start a witch hunt in Westminster a la Weinstein. Let's dig up every sexual innuendo ever made, let's take all the banter and isolate it into cold facts devoid of any context or the prevailing situation. Let's go back a couple of decades to do this, let's turn on each other, rake up stuff we've known about for many years and steadfastly ignored because it's mostly trivial, hearsay or banter. Let's act as if the country doesn't need a strong parliament, as if touching someone's knee a decade or more ago is worth a Minister's resignation. Let's report a couple of MPs to the police without any evidence or even telling them why or for what because someone has accused them of something that may or may not have happened many years ago. Let's just rip the whole place apart because around every corner, behind every door, under every desk and lurking in every lavatory in Westminster is a sex pest. Brexit? What's that? Oh yes I remember now it's the silly spat we were having with the EU, well we aren't in any position now to pretend we are a strong, united party are we. Oh well, c'est la Vie as some of them might say, you win some you lose some. Lessons HAVE been learned though. Primarily we have learned that we are a rag, tag and bobtail, Parliament, a bunch of useless, backstabbing, pathetic no hopers regardless of political persuasions. We have learned that individual ambitions and power seeking are more important than the interests of the country, personal egos far outweigh the greater good at the end of the day. But at least one man can stand tall. Enter the new defence secretary. The former chief whip, a man who was privy to all the parliamentary gossip, the allegations etc, etc, and never said a word until now, a man who advised Fallon to 'come  clean' at the most opportune moment.........to himself!! Mr Ceramics, a man who has as much idea about defence as Geoffrey Archer has about fidelity! Apropos of which, if Archer wrote a book with this latest Westminster farce as its theme it would be discounted as fantasy. I am now  totally fed up with it all. It is a disgrace, these are people who dictate our lives, who make our laws, who run our country, who preach morals and altruism to us. Politics is a dirty business it's said, it has probably never been dirtier.......or more pointless in my opinion.
