As we approach Remembrance Day I see the politicians are now wearing their poppy . Living here in the Republic I have to wear a small pin for obvious reasons. Now there is a company that has made poppies with cap badges which again I have a Carabiner one and a 14/20 Hawk one which once in the UK I wear on both lapels ,plus a British Legion one ( yes a bit over the top) . Then when I'm in Manchester I'm low key to some ex-military guys who are lapels full of badges etc ,here my question " having the poppy on display does it make any difference to our younger generations "???????? Now that military life is now not a big part of life .

I too bought one of those poppy's with Regimental badge on - jeez, it's BIG , far too big for me to wear ( now have the smaller one), it's more like a brooch ! If you're wearing one on each lapel Bob, plus a British Legion one, don't travel on the Irish ferry 'cos you'll sink !! John (JKW)
