Things that have caught my attention and made me ponder of late include amongst others;

1. Does Big Ben really need to stop chiming for 4 years or is it a bit of 'elf and safety' overkill?

2. Why has Nicola Krankie gone so quiet and is she really serious about wishing the 'National' part of the SNP's title was not there.

3. Is the MacGregor/Mayweather fight' likely to be a rerun of the Ali versus the Japanese wrestler farce that took place shortly after Ali retired from boxing? A few rounds of hugging, clinches and air punches followed by a party at their respective banks!!

4. Has Camilla's rehabilitation by the British public suffered a major set back in the light of the recent 'anniversary' media stories about her role in the divorce and how she allegedly treated Diana? Will she become Queen or Consort when/if Charles ascends the throne?

5. Does anyone know how Brexit is progressing.......or not??

6. Is Theresa May still PM?

7.And finally, why do so few members join in the discussions? Any ideas?? I keep asking this question in the hope that a couple of members who aren't regular subscribers take the opportunity to tell us.

My answers in order of questioning ; 1) Overkill - they could cut the chime sequence to just operate during the workers tea breaks (ie, every 15 minutes - oh that's the timing now !!). 2) WNS has had her face smacked after the last election result, and "Yes", wishes National was not there. 3)The fight will be closer than the Ali farce, at least initially - I hope Mayweather wins, beats Marciano's record, and DOES then retire. Big Mouth MacGregor gets up my nose ! 4)Camilla's rating has slumped dramatically - no doubt the fickle British public will forget ( not forgive) over time, and she'll get the "promotion". 5)A slight move forward, but it IS painfully slow - unity among the Tories would help. 6)Think so, but certainly keeping a low profile. 7) No idea why - if it's for fear of contradicting the "few", or making a spelling / grammatical mistake, PLEASE - we want debate, opposing views, & couldn't give a toss about spelling mistakes etc, so just hit the keyboard with your opinion / topic  & press "reply" at the bottom ! Thank you John, for what it's worth your last point echoes my sentiments entirely. Not that I disagree with the rest of your post except perhaps slighty the Camilla one. I think she will become consort rather than Queen in order not to risk the ire of the public, because as the coronation of Charles becomes imminent the press will be agog with Diana reminisces again, in my opinion. Hope you and yours are keeping well

Rocky  Marciano    hard as nails but remember the vast weight differences John, Mayweather to my mind never had a catchweight contest ,whereas Marciano was small for a heavyweight and in some fights was giving away nearly 2 stones. .

Me tinks that it's an age ting ,the organisation we were members of was made defunct over 4 decades ago . Meaning that like a lot of people that old they have not the way around a keyboard,a phone maybe ,and I'm not making an excuse for the old farts I met at a funeral in March this year ,it's just they are still on jungle drums for communication. We all forget by the time we got 20 years of age we were all serving overseas,in some cases countries that were in a thing called an "empire " but with the demise of the Soviet block and the rise of the EU ,overseas posting are limited. So we did our youth in " gasthouses " were the youth of today on an iPhone internet and drugs ,or in the Fulda gap not an Xbox . Now back to our guys who attend reunions but don't corispond here , there are quite a few who use Facebook and post daily even ones of the Scottish variety and are  again having get togethers north of the border . I look at where the organisation that I spent my youth in has arrived at today ,yes technology has come on leaps but you still need " boots on the ground" ,disappointed the way politicians forget who keeps them in their jobs and the country too ,nuff said .
