There is a guy called Alan Cummings who happens to be a Scot and he's all over the Herald in Scotland informing the readers that the "silly English voters " are damaging Scotland's membership of the EU .mmmmmmmmmm interesting ,why well a couple of years when they ( Scotland) were having their leave/independent referendum he was a celebrity for Alec Salmond . Don't you just hate it when a celeb opens his/her mouth to influence you especially when as this case he lives in NewYork ,the same reaction was when Beckam opened his mouth about Brexit from his California home .......and now Nicola is on the freedom speeches again ,name calling will be all over the media . Isn't it great that 60 odd % of the voters who voted on Brexit of the 8 or so % of the total population of the U.K. haven't heard of DEMOCRACY ....

Wee Nicola hasn't been listening to the edicts from the EU -  IF they want to remain in the EU they MUST become an independent nation first, AND must have the Euro as their currency, and MUST have open borders for all members of the EU to enjoy free movement, and MUST relinquish their fishing rights. No self respecting "Jock" with a modicum of common sense will vote for all that to happen - yes, many would want Independence, but the vast majority I'm certain would not want to rejoin the EU at such a cost. If they did however, and the Shengen Open Border policy was implemented for Scotland, we really would need a controlled border between England & Scotland to prevent the flow of immigrants ( & Jocks !) from having free access to our green & pleasant land - Shades of Hadrians Wall again ! They will also have to pass the fiscal and economic entrance qualifications as a stand alone country,if it ever got that far,and there is no guarantee that Scotland would even be accepted into the EU on an independent basis. Personally I am fed up with the whole independence issue, the whinging and whining, the back stabbing and the toxic ranting of Ms Sturgeon. Had Scotland gained independence on the economic planning of  Salmond and the SNP at its first bid it would now be in dire financial straits and certainly not a member of the EU. Sturgeon just conveniently glosses over the fact that Scotland receives £billions more from the treasury per capita (in total) than the other 3 UK constituent countries which allows her to offer free university studies, free prescriptions and home health care. Her oil revenues last year were about £350 million against her forecast of several £billion. Without substantial and prolonged oil revenues Scotland would find economic survival very difficult outside the UK, it is an economy that is heavily public sector reliant and needs the extra subsidies from Westminster to make ends meet, which it currently isn't doing anyway.  So I am now of the opinion if Scotland truly wants independence so be it but we should not kowtow to Sturgeon in any way to try and maintain a status quo that is heavily weighted in her favour already!!

With the 'Wicked Witch' from the north again raising the threat of another referendum perhaps the rest of the UK should have one to decide if we want Scotland to remain as part of the UK. I have a feeling she may get what she wants sooner than expected.

Ted I've had that thought briefly ,but no the Jocks are a canny people and know which side of their bread is buttered on . There is another problem about Brexit raising its ugly head ,what well the border between North and South Ireland ,will it be hard or soft ? The Repubic and Sinn Fein want as is ,but how will you control movement between both states without some sort of control on the border itself . After serving in Fermanah during the troubles border control was mainly an Army job ,docs check etc , the scene I you fly intoDublin on Ryanair then up to Monahan into the North then into the mainland where's my benefit etc . TM will have to dot the I's and cross the T's with all the access to the UK once Brexit is complete .

Whoever thought that the hairy Jocks would allow a midget Lesbian to rule them and lecture them on what they need then  swan off like a latter day Merkel around the EU being patronized  like the idiot she is. I think she really believes that people in Westminster take her seriously, bit like Elizabeth screaming if you don't give me what I want I will be sick and then it will be your fault, trouble is she is coming up against a second 'Second Maggie'  who will tell her to calm down a go and have rest. Silly Women!!

Bob, Trouble is that Ms Sturgeon does not, and never will know, which side of her bread has the butter on, so she could never get it right in a year of Sundays. and if she ever got into the EU as an independent country, she will have to pay billions of cash (which she will not have, of course, cos UK will have stopped our massive contribution to them in the north the day they leave) to set up a new currency for Scotland, which would take years for any other country to accept as legal and of any value. Our new PM will not take kindly to 'er in't north demanding more and more without the UK deciding to send her on her way to oblivion. The Scots should not support Sturgeon, she is too shallow, but they do need our support if and when they finally decide what THEY want, and not what wee Nic wants. Then UK and Scotland can get back to normal relations, but not until....

The really galling thing for wee Nicola is the results of recent gallop polls apropos Independence. There is still an almost identical percentage of Scots post BREXIT who wish to remain part of The Union as there was at the end of their own independence referendum DESPITE a Scottish majority in favour of the Remain camp. AND a similar percentage would vote to stay part of the UK if Scotland has to leave the EU along with the rest of us. Come to think of it the second part is bollocks because we all know that Scotland will have to leave when we do but anyway that's the latest poll results. Ms Sturgeon is playing games, her sword of Damocles is blunt and her threats are empty, we have nothing to fear from her and her madcap nationalists, the will of the UNITED KINGDOM will prevail.

she should be reminded of what happened on the Panama canal deal, and who bailed them out as part of the UK, if by some remote chance Scotland does leave the UK  there will be no bail out then. Strange times though they all got it wrong on the Brexit forecast, let us wait and see what happens, all sorts of rumours abound ,Brexit means Brexit says the incumbent PM, now the unelected other house is trying to block it, a group of  expats in France are trying to mount a legal challenge to declare it null and void, ( these are people who have moved to France for a supposedly better way of life, if it so good take up French citizenship and vote in their elections Marie Antionette springs to mind, slight play on words cake and eat it).with reference to Brexit  accept it and get on with the job of rebuilding the country its economy and bringing the people together . It is easy to pull the cart when every one is pulling in the same direction.
