So what happened to the British car industry???
September 8, 2015
Hi Bob, I have a British Racing Green MG Rover with just 70K mileage and I am pleased to say that this is from a long list of "Rover" owned vehicles. Albeit the engine is BMW (and probably a considerable amount of the parts), it continues to serve me well and I fly the flag for UK. You certainly keep the website active together with Tom, John, Dave and a few other stalwarts. Keep your posts coming. Ken

Ken my Rover 800 sits proudly on my drive, gas converted T reg with 90k but over here €700 to road tax and no lpg stations anymore...so driving a Hyundai i20 diesel,65mpg and only €200 a year tax ,maybe if my pension was a bit larger I could get the Rover running again but economics has raised its ugly head.On another level Ken are you in Chester in November if so see you old friend .

Hi Bob, I am fortunate that diesel has dropped in price and I do very little mileage, taxation is not too bad either so quite economical. My other car (driven by the long haired general) is a Hyundai ix20 and likewise very economical. My quarterly visits to Stamford in Lincolnshire and the occasional visits to Cosham down south are perhaps my longest journeys these days and the Rover stays in the garage. However, I did use it for my annual pilgrimage to london (Irish Regiments Parade) and to Belgium (Ypres). If I can encourage "madam" to attend; I will try to make Chester in November. It would be good to meet up after all these years. Keep well. Ken
