I remember Tony when he visited the Regiment in Sennelager , maybe on more than one occasion too. I was RSM the last time that I can recall him being there, so the mid 80's, and he was a guest in the WO's & Sgts Mess, with a pal of his too if I remember right, and I clearly recall him telling us of his time with the Met SPG . He was a firearms instructor with them, clearly having learnt  lot from his days on the ranges with 3DG ! John (JKW)

Hello Tony, glad you found your way onto the site. Trying to think the last time we stood at the bar putting the world to rights and I guess it must have been circa 1984 in Sennelager. 34 years ago, seems almost like yesterday! I had heard of  Colin’s passing sad, I assume you are still in touch with Bob, if so please pass on my regards and best wishes. Anyway old chum it is good to hear from you, take care, best wishes, David.

Hi Tony, glad you found the Forum - it's where we can share memories of days gone by. I don't think there's anyone on here who looks in that served during your time ( I stand to be corrected), and would therefore just love to hear what life in the Regiment was like during your service. Where did you go on exercises ? What vehicles did you use ? Sleeping bags - what sleeping bags !?! Daily routine in camp ? Notable personalities (some of whom we may know too) ? Any snippets of gossip ?  Obviously no need to answer all in one go, but I'd certainly enjoy reading of your time with the Regiment, bit by bit if need be. Here's hoping you can provide us with some tales of your time in 3DG. John (JKW)
