What a Weekend !

Mayweather's win was welcomed by me as well. Turned out to be a real fight after all, surprised at how much more tired McGregor was than his much older opponent. Great win though. Hamilton's victory also, I desperately want him to take the title again. Liverpool did rather well I must admit, pity about the women's rugby but a great game none the less. Weather? Perfect, went  cross country biking with my granddaughters both days, managed to get some good gardening in and never strayed onto a road at all, bank holiday traffic? What's that?

Yep good weekend,Kay came 2nd in the local home produce show with Her onions ,last year it was black currant jam but thanks to the birds they were a poor crop this year. Needless to say a 4 nil thrashing may make Arsenal look for a new manager ,but being a suthern lot and Lundon at that tee hee .

I see a lot of our TV footy pundits complaining about the England wins this weekend, they won ,5 points clear ,what else matters ,just get to the finals then play our usual losing pretty footy . At least Wayne won't be there .

I still think we were lucky to win last night - Slovakia played the better footy IMO, with us being sloppy with our passing & wasteful with the final ball. With that said, we DID win, and need just 2 points to qualify out of a possible 6, although all 6 points should be ours considering the opposition we're to face. I see Chelsea got a (Danny) Drinkwater in the transfer window, whilst Everton got a Drinkdriver !!! John (JKW)

Unusually for me, I watched most of the game. Personally I found it a bit boring. It seemed to me, a completely self confessed non expert on football, that England had no real flair in the final phases of their ball possession when attacking their opponents' goal. Lots of passing and ball retention, lots of square balls, back passes and ball retention but no real flair in the breakaway phases. When they did effect a reasonably good attacking sequence the final shot at goal seemed very tame and hurried, oftentimes the shooter would have done better to have passed the ball to someone else. We probably will qualify but to my mind we seem to play, boring, unimaginitive football. That's the most I have ever had to say about a football match so don't start trolling me Lol. As for Rooney, he seems to be bent on self destruction.

with your mention of  square balls David perhaps it would be better if they played with a round one, never mind the ball that is a cross one, or a centre one, etc etc.

Bob, if you only knew what a mental strain it was for me to make a comment on football. I just read my last post on that subject and only now realize what a load of codswallop it is. Truth be told I stole some phrases I had previously heard football pundits using and tried to make them appear salient to the England game. I won't be going there again any time soon lol!
