Will Hadrians wall have to rebuild

Sturgeon is a toxic dwarf BUT I guess she is only doing what anyone in her position would do.....fight for what is best (or at least what she THINKS is best) for those who elected her. She absolutely doesn't want another independence referendum yet or indeed independence at present. She wants to play the waiting game, she has a strong hand now. She will likely wait and see the outcome of the effects of Article 50 being declared and implemented, see how much we become alienated from the EU, see what deal they will offer her if Scotland becomes an independent country and THEN, with the Scottish electorate more uncertain than ever, call a referendum. To be totally fair we DID tell the Scots if they gained independence they would have to leave the EU and we wouldn't allow them to keep the £. Bob is correct in his assertion that Scotland's reliance on oil is a precarious fiscal risk given the fluctuating and highly volotile oil markets over the past few years. Latest figures indicate last year's net income from oil was £350 million against a £2BILLION income when Salmond first embarked upon the independence trail.  She does gloss over the fact that Scotland has a huge public sector payroll which is heavily subsidised from the Treasury and the fact that for decades now Scotland has received a great deal more per capita income from the treasury annually than ANY of the other 3 constituent UK countries. That all aside, she is banking on many of those who were perhaps wavering last time but took the safe option of voting against independence changing their minds in time. Time will tell!!

David further to my last post we have messages coming out of Gerry Adams party ,both north and south of the border. I'll give you a picture of Sinn Feins position in the south first over the last 2 referendum on the EU Lisburn and Nice over the last 10 years which they campaigned against. In the North they have decided to have a border poll and want to stay in the EU due to Thursday vote oh and yes the southern Sinn Feiners now want a border poll plus as they in the EU now want it for the island of Ireland in total. What they are saying we can't have a hard border as it will effect the peace process, which by the way is of their making ,again talking out of both sides of their mouths . Am I wrong but before any of the devolved countries assembly or parliament can only put a leave referendum to their people if Westminster gives the go ahead for them to do so ????? After what's happened over Europe I can't see that happening in my life time ,they wouldn't wish to be the Parliament who broke up the UK . Then again can we trust the present politicians in Westminster????

Bob you are correct in your assumption that ANY referendum that materially affects the UK must be sanctioned by  Westminster, those powers have NOT been devolved to any of the other 3 Parliaments. They can hold an unofficial presumptive referendum that has no legal standing but which might prove difficult to ignore. Re Ireland, it is my belief that the Prod majority in NI will NEVER accede to a United Ireland EU or no EU>

Poor little Ms Sturgeon,  who is against all things British, and has no knowledge of the English, having thrown her rattle out of the pram now, full of spite and venom, declaring she wants to veto the Brexit vote, and leave the UK. She would regret leaving UK, since she and her citizens would then lose all and every penny she now gets courtesy of us in the rest of  UK , together with the multi millions worth of jobs in the defence industry, which would be automatically returned to English soil once more. She would also lose the extra cash she gets from HM Government, as a top up to the normal amounts we south of the border receive. She needs to be very careful with her outbursts, because the  VAST majority of us south of the border could very well decide to let her go her own way. That, of course, would inflict problems on her citizens, something she would be in trouble for,  both north and south of the border. Could she afford to lose all the extra cash she gets from us at present, and has she any idea of the problems this would cause to her innocent subjects? I doubt it. Besides, she is only being a bit behind the times to say the least. I must also give all those north of the border my sorrow, to all Scots, at the accident in Scotland involving a roller coaster, and hope that the injured will recover quickly and completely.

Bob,Tongue in cheek here, Re rebuilding Hadrian's Wall, Yes, it must be returned to its initial glorious state when it was originally built all those centuries ago. AND it must extend far enough out to sea on the East  AND the West coasts, so that only warships and coastal defence ships could be used for patrolling this situation. Pedallos, leaky rowing boats, life belts and such would not be able to get round the defences. Cloud cuckoo land, I suppose, but we south of the border must be prepared for any invasion from the North, if the worst happens. We do not want the Scots as a whole to be cast out, just her whose sole intent is to cause disruption for her own sake and (?) prestige????
