Women’s Rugby

August 26, 2017

I watched New Zealand beat England in the WRWC this evening. I have to say it was a quite brilliant game of rugby to watch. Fast, free flowing, hard, tactical and every bit as good to watch as  the men's game, some might say better. We narrowly lost against a very strong NZ team with some extremely powerful Maori players but the teams both did themselves and women's rugby proud. Great entertainment I must say.

Not a rugby fan myself, much prefer the round ball ! With that said, I find some difficulty in understanding females playing such a rough game , especially when they appear afterwards for interview sporting a black eye as I witnessed the other night ! Still, each to their own, it wouldn't do for us all to follow the same sports eh !?! John (JKW)

Some years ago women's rugby was a distant shadow of what it is today, John, the NZ match was an outstanding example of free flowing, hard tackling rugby and was equal in commitment and entertainment to any men's game. Like you say each to their own but I can also appreciate a good game of football, well maybe the highlights, ok the goals!
