‘Allo, Allo, Allo’

November 9, 2017

Some little time ago about 20 or so police, along with forensic teams and sniffer dogs, computer experts et al, raided the home of FM Lord Bramall at 6 am. They did so on the word of a single accuser, a known fantasist disowned by his own family for his lies etc. Lord Bramall's  aged wife, suffering from advanced dementia, was desperately upset by the raid and died before the Met apologised and accepted the accusations were lies. The raid on Cliff Richards home took place in and under similar circumstances. Similar apologies and retractions have also now been made to him as well. Fast forward to a week or so ago and change the venue to Cambridgeshire. A woman has her £7000 caravan stolen. Microlight gained photos show it parked in a nearby travellers' enclosure. She hands the footage to the police who decline to enter the encampment on health and safety grounds. Not enough evidence to effect a search warrant, not enough officers to guarantee their safety.Police said they attended the site for 5 hours but the travellers wouldn't let them in. The caravan was later found dumped nearby on a farmer's land. The police sent a lone PCSO to accompany the woman to retrieve the caravan and they were trapped in her car for 20 minutes by a mob of 12 travellers. A couple of weeks ago, in one of the east coast resorts, travellers rampaged through the promenade area of the town and basically declared it a no go zone. At least two people were assaulted, damage caused etc. Police declined to attend as they felt their presence might inflame matters. Post incident apologies have done little to assuage local people's anger. Today, HM Inspectorate of Constabulary have declared many police forces are categorising  some violent crimes, assaults and criminal damage as low priority and are not attending such crimes. A bit ago I read of police officers watching someone drown in a fairly shallow pond because they weren't 'water trained' and they were forbidden to enter on 'elf and safety' grounds. Someone please tell me firstly, where have all the brave, dedicated, "bugger the  health and safety rules", police officers gone to and secondly is it any wonder that the police are held in such disdain by so many. 20 police officers to raid an aged retired FM's home at dark o'clock in the morning but none to retrieve a stole caravan from a travellers site. You couldn't make it up!!!!!

Shocked & disgusted am I, at the gutless response by the police re the woman's stolen caravan - it would seem "travellers" are Teflon coated, able to do what they want, not pay any dues, leave behind a disgusting mess when they do condescend to vacate the land they've commandeered, and escape any sort of sanctions for their (usually) illegal actions. Spineless authorities, too afraid to upset the "PC Brigade", are to blame -it's time for some real leadership, someone not afraid to stand up & be counted. The last person "to fit the bill" has passed away but someone I reckon with the balls (not literally) to carry the baton is Esther McVey - she speaks well, is hated by Labour (a good thing IMO !) & always answers questions directly. Having taken Osborne's old seat, & now promoted to Dep. Chief Whip, I reckon she's well placed to mount a leadership challenge should the occasion arise. What say you, Forumites ? John (JKW)
