Bob,  ALL the people involved in knowingly using this flammable cladding for high rise tower blocks should be tried in the highest courts on this planet if they used it in these very situations, and also, the makers of the fridge freezer which caught fire should be prosecuted for not carrying out the proper safety checks at all stages of the production line they were made on.Safety of life is paramount. Safety rules and safety checks for ALL tower blocks should be carried out , to ensure that SAFETY from fire in each and every apartment within these buildings is paramount and should be covered by all possible means of fire prevention and immediate reaction in any such fire situation. Hindsight is wonderful, and since the cladding people involved in its manufacture knew of this fire hazard, that is criminal. They have NO defence for this. WRONG cladding, wrong safety checks on the fridge freezer involved as the cause  is not the residents problem, but the makers of the items in question. Heads must roll.

It would appear that to avoid the accusation of being slow to respond, the council have gone overboard in their attempts to also avoid being held responsible should another fire break out in one of their tower blocks. I must confess, it's gone a bit potty at the moment IMO, a cack-handed and ill-thought out response to the potential problem - mind you, it has given the media hours, days, probably weeks, of 24/7 coverage, which will continue unabated until the next disaster takes over - roll on the footy season starting, even Sky Sports News is full of boring golf, tennis or a game I've never fathomed out, rugby, so no alternative channel there for me to watch !!
