John what can I say to help ,I know I was in Asda Harpurhey Manchester, did the hole in wall , yes notes upside down etc BUT worse still MIXED notes tenners and twenties. Go for a hundred and sometimes it's 3 twenties and sometimes it's 2 ,and the tenners are tatty ,being discreet trying to count before you move off is a real pain in the arse . I suppose I was lucky it wasn't fivers !!!!!!!!!!

I'm not happy. My OCD is now offended. I usually never check money I withdraw from a cash point. Yesterday, following JK's post, I did so. Guess what? A mixture of notes, some tatty, wrong way round and upside down. I will now have to check all withdrawals studiously in the future. Another worry added to my list of things sent to annoy me. As for John claiming there are more important  things to worry about, excuse me, I resemble (resent? Ed) that remark!

Today I was online checking my Irish bank account and there was a charge of €10 by the Irish government for my and the wife's debit card . On checking I also found that we were being charged  €20 each for our credit cards . That means to have access to our bank account the government is charging us €50 a year that's on top of charges the banks make on us for services . There is also banks ( Ulster Bank,AIB) being fined for there miss use of tracker mortgages and having to compensate people who were a) charged wrongly b) lost their house/homes ,that number is in the thousands. Just thinking that the decision not to join the euro and have the Bank of England the governing body not the ECB in Frankfurt too far away from island of Ireland.
