I for one am  bl***y p****d off that NONE of the people looking for my vote will be coming to knock on my door, this election, because I want to give them ALL a roasting for talking a load of bull, not telling anywhere near the truth, about their policies, plans or ideas to get this nation of ours back on its feet. The quickest solution would logically be the one where, since we are deeply in the brown stuff, absolutely penniless, we refuse to send any cash to the EU, (again, a bunch of idiots), or to ANY overseas country until we are back in the black with our finances. If any one party really wanted to do what we, the electorate want and need, they would win every seat in Parliament hands down. Let us look after ourselves, for a change, and not dish out any cash to others until this house of ours is back in the black, with a well looked after population and letting the outsiders sort themselves out, and not scrounge off the penniless UK any longer. I was staggered the other day to see how much we pay to the EU (many billions EVERY month) and as much, if not more to "Overseas Aid", every month. Get this UK of ours sorted out, then help the overseas poor nations, and then we can live a better life. And while I am at it, cancel HS 2, we do not need to save 30 minutes on a journey from anywhere to anywhere in this country. It would be different if we were the size of Australia, US, Canada etc.  Moan over, for now!

Totally agree with the above ! Suddenly all these promises of  massive improvements to the NHS, tax cuts, even the LibDums promising £2k to young 'uns to leave the "nest" & find rented accommodation - if the kids cannot save £2 grand (which they must pay back in 2 years) whilst living with Mum & Dad, how will they afford the average rent of £450 per month AND the running expenses involved ? Labour are saying they'll provide 3000 more midwives - where are they coming from ? More immigrants maybe, because we just don't have 3000 "resting" & available to start, bearing in mind it takes a number of years to train a midwife. The Tories are now saying they'll fund £8 billion a year for the NHS by 2020 - great idea, but I just can't see where that sort of saving is coming from to fund it. In the mean time, that mealy mouthed wee Jock woman is plotting how she can disrupt Westminster, get rid of Trident (plus the thousands of jobs involved) and make Scotland independent again. Politics ?  I really am dreading the outcome of the coming Election, & am already fed up with the breakfasts, factory visits, kitchen scenes & baby hugging palava they're all involved in, none of which means anything to the average citizen they're supposed to represent. Any door knockers I get will be asked their Party's view of Overseas Aid - I'm fairly certain it'll be a very short visit ! John (JKW)

Lies. lies and damned lies. NONE of it adds up, it is all economically illiterate, the whole shebang! The only piece of pre election hyperbole that we can actually believe is the fact we have to continue to reduce the national debt. The coalition, for all its faults and the pasty faced, snivelling Lib/Dems, has got the economy back into some semblence of an even keel. Sadly, none of them has realized how much of a turnoff all their false promises are to the electorate. Like others on this site, I am also totally fed up with all the rhetoric, the name calling, the sniping and the pathetic "insights" into the party leaders' lives. I am as interested in their kitchens, their wives, their eating habits et al as I am in  the mating habits of snails!! I absolutely refuse to watch or listen to ANY of it. If it comes on when the news is on I switch over until it is done! I echo JK's concerns about the outcome of this election, I fear we will see a Labour party Govt come the day. I fear we will also see a resurgent SNP party with 46 or so MPs under the Sturgeon Braveheart banner itching to start their disruption of Westminster and English politics. I am sickened that successive political parties have stood idly by and watched this farce unfold because they were too inept to deal properly with the Westlothian issue. Grrrr. it all makes my blood boil!!

Bob, I agree, but how can we call Tony Blair, John Prescott and all the past failures from former ne'er do wells and this present lot of ne'er do wells "politicians". They  are NOT looking to the welfare and safety of this country. So I hope one vote seeker at least knocks on my door, cos what I will say to him/her/it, is the same for all the other idiots who call. But I will not hold my breath.... Do you remember a speech from Enoch Powell about "blood on the streets" because of so many foreigners entering UK if too many came in, years ago? It WAS true, and it is happening here right now... He could see what was coming, but nobody in "Government" believed him. Chickens coming home to roost comes to mind....

And I forgot to ask.... Does the MTV channel you refer to in your first entry stand for "MuppetsTV"? (and I do not include anyone using this Forum, or any other voters).I refer only to our magnificent politicians, past and present (in mind only, till May 8th), who are commonly known collectively as the UK Muppets Inc. they will be the first to go when Putin comes and takes over in a couple of months.....

Bob,   I almost fell down laughing at what Cleggyweggy was saying, he really is an eedjut! He is claiming that without the icky wicky Cleggy gang, Cameroon and co would not have managed to lick a postage stamp, never mind licking UK into shape..... he could not lick an ice lolly safely. I wonder how he will handle the  2015 version of the  German SS ( aka Sturgeon and Salmond ) if he manages to get elected....

Bob, I am amazed and confused.... OK no smart comments please,I saw a gang of suited "cheps" (chaps to you and me) coming down our road this afternoon, so I put on my armour and went to confront them over their political uselessness, but not what I thought , they were from the council, inspecting those great play areas for practicing golf, aka holes in the road, and when I finally managed to get back to the house, I was too kna****ed to get the armour plate off again... maybe manage to next week or later.... I will be glad when all the fuss is over for 5 more years. Why can we not modify it a bit by having one vote , to be for the appointed leader of our choice as "better than the others" party, then we only make one tick on the paper and the one with most votes over the whole electorate has to select his MPs. This way we cannot be blamed for the muck up the winning leader makes in his selections. If he/she it gets it wrong.  he/she/it  goes (we shoot him/her/it.) EASY. Or am I being naive????
