Gone Quiet On Here !

February 13, 2018

It would appear that it's not only Bob Riley who's on his holidays, 'cos it's gone very quiet on here ! David F, Bob x 2, & occasionally Tommy Coates, being the main (only !) contributors to the Forum, it would seem that  those who "look in" only, are very reluctant to share the odd thought or opinion - WHY ? Bearing in mind just how difficult & time consuming, not to mention the  expense & technical expertise required  and provided by Freddy & Son, it seems such a shame that more don't get involved - their gallant efforts need rewarding by a more active participation by those members who, up until now, have stayed in the background.  C'mon former Carabiniers, show your loyalty to the cap badge we wore and spare a few words on here to keep the 3DG Forum alive - as Lord Kitchener once said, "We Need You" !

Gone Quiet On Here !

I intimated a few posts ago that I was finding it increasingly disheartening that participation in the site was so minimal. I don’t give up easily but I have begun to find it more difficult to motivate myself into posting. I have tried to stimulate discussion as indeed Bob, Bob, Tom and yourself have, but folk seem reluctant to want to actively participate, apart from occasional contributions from Charlie, Ted Tosh and one or two others in the now distant past. No complaints, everyone has to do as they see fit, we obviously can only encourage participation but like you John I find it sad that the work, time and effort put in by Freddy and his son reaps such a sparse reaction from site members. Perhaps we ‘regulars’ are seen as too ‘cliquey’, maybe our posts are found to be boring, could it be that members  think the site has run its course? Sounds defeatist I know but I guess I am leaning towards the view you can only take a horse to water so many times before you begin to realise maybe it doesn’t want to drink. Just my current train of thought.

He's back ,be afraid very afraid. After 2 months of Brussels Broadcasting world service and very little info on the happening here (UK) except Brexit bias . So headlines ,17 killed in Florida,Zumba gone at last,Boris doing a Boris .....2 headlines that are worrisome both with percentages over 40% increases, Homelessness more to come on that once I do some Googleing ,coss 21 century people should have a roof over their head. Being a car driver and having to out most days on the roads ,this headline is killer ,underage drivers,no license etc mostly in stolen motors ,well over a Thousand been caught by the police,BUT the DO Gooders are arguing about the punishment given to these idiots who kill innocent people through their bad driving, and when should a 14 year old have a driving ban ( license) from the date of the offence ,oh by the way they aren't old enough to hold a feckin license anyway. Me with how our teenage generations have so much information on phones,iPads etc ,just treat them like they were adults,if they want to be BIG idiots they have to get MAXIMUM PENALTY in jail cos they'd just brush off a driving ban not being old enough to worry ...food for thought

Bob, Glad to hear you're back - re driving bans, it always annoyed me to the hilt when taking a scrote to court for multiple driving offences, the judge gave him ( for example), 5 years for death by dangerous driving, with a TWO year driving ban to commence immediately ! What a farce, no wonder the scrotes would smirk on leaving the dock. David, yep, both RIP's noted & commented upon in the Obits thread. John (JKW)

Many thanks to David and John for keeping site up to date. I have been a bit 'off net' since my Wife fell early January and broke her hip which was replaced the following day 5th Jan. After two weeks she was fit for discharge to a Rehab centre but for a further two weeks no bed was found and it was decided the only option was to send her home with a six week package of care. This did not materialize and I have had to find my own carers with guess who on the night shift hence knackered! For the regular correspondents who think they are alone 418 visits were made to the site in the past 4 weeks! To all ex Carbs who may be unwell at the moment I wish you a speedy recovery. Freddy

Freddy hope your other half gets well soon at least she has a great carer to keep her getting better. One thing I found gets the other half well quick is mentioning going shopping, just a thought .
