If anyone has been wondering why Wee Eck Salmond has been quiet lately, particularly regarding independence, take a look at the forecourt prices of fuel. Oil was trading at $113 per barrel when he made his now much derided claim that Scotland could live off North Sea Oil revenues. Warned that oil prices were likely to plummet and would be insufficient to sustain an independent Scotland, he called his detractors all sorts of names and told us all he knew better, after all he is an erstwhile  oil trader!! Oil is trading today at just under $39 a barrel ergo the 99.99p per litre for petrol at the pumps. It is forecast to possibly hit $20 per barrel in the coming months, Scotland would now be in a terrible financial mess had the saner element of that nation not been in the majority. I wonder where all the radical nationalists are now?As an aside, Scotland continues to receive more treasury income per capita than England does but I forecast unwelcome economical cuts looming for Scotland as this oil glut and price decrease unfolds even further.

Given Cameron's abysmal indecisiveness on the 3rd Heathrow runway and his appalling back pedalling on the EU demands I can see the Brexit vote gathering even more momentum. Should the latter issue come to fruition I wonder if  wee Nicola Krankie will still want another vote on independence.....knowing there is insufficient money from North Sea oil revenues to sustain an independent Scotland. We live in interesting  if uncertain times.

Taking your second subject first ,Heathrow and the U.K. Negotiations for a better deal in the E U , traveling to Germany as I do especially to Frankfurt or Hahne (Ryanair ) both these smallish cities have airports that put the English premier airport to shame ,and with the new high speed train service directly from the airport Frankfurt is a power house and an example of German management . DC has watered down his demands for further cooperation in the EU ,even then he"s not going get them,Merkal is so damaged by the migrant problem ( 1 million) that her days are numbered in Germany let alone Europe and Holloned has the Le Penne right wingers raising their heads (once again) in France so they'll be playing to home audiences to keep their jobs . As you know BA has now bought out the Spanish and Irish national carriers ,well the guy who's the CEO  Walsh ,well he's a paddy and as all good paddies he wants the UK to stay in the EU ,weres this going well this guy is telling the Irish press if there is Brexit he will move BA out of Heathrow and also if there is a third runway ,saying the charges are too high as it is ,London has four airports five if you include Luton and most are running at capacity ,build the 3rd runway and then improve the flood defences in the north west . Yes if the SNP had got its way Scotland would have been ( there's no way to say it but ) fucked ,as it is they are living on ( can I say without being a colonial English/Irish man) charity from the more populace south ,living as I  do in a country that got its independence 100years ago ( with more of its citizens living abroad ) and has gone from boom to bust owing billions but it's their choice ,let them pick up the tab

Wee Nicola and her SNP chums avoid whenever possible any discussion about oil prices, they know fine well that come the 24 Mar 16, the day independence would have happened, Scotland would have become a third world economy overnight.  The opposition parties at Holyrood bring the oil price up every week at First Minister's questions and Wee Nicola's standard response is to accuse them of being hypocrites!!!!!!! In the meantime the YES 'nutters' have gone very quiet. John Swinney delivers his budget later today so it will be very interesting to see what is on the table. They have already said they will not use their new income tax powers for at least a year. That of course is not influenced by the fact we have a general election in May.........aye right.  As to Oily Salmond :) he is a busted flush up here, give Wee Nicola her due she has put him firmly in his place he is an SNP MP at Westminster nothing more, and he knows it and hates it. He is a close second to Blair in my list of politicians who have done everything they can to ruin GREAT BRITIAN. Delighted and very relieved still to be United. Wee Frankie
