Not content with the Bloody Sunday debacle and travesty of justice that seeks to arraign junior ranks involved in something that happened 40 years or so ago, the Govt's "Independent Assessment Tank" looking into alleged war crimes resultant from the Iraqi war reckons there are over 1200 "crimes", perpetuated by British service men and women, deemed worthy of investigation including 280 suspicious deaths. So, WE, the country that sent these service personnel to fight a war that was probably illegal because it was based on lies, a war that had sod all to do with us, a war that saw our forces sent into battle ill equipped and poorly led, a war that saw finances gain more importance than the lives of the brave service people we sent there and a war that was simply not worth the lives and the horrific injuries caused to so many brave souls. NO, let's go the whole hog now and stab those who survived in the back, let's accept every money grabbing Arab family;s claim that their menfolk were all innocent and were brutally murdered by British troops because that's what we do, we just randomly shoot people for no reason!! Let's not ponder on past lessons where we have proven the overwhelming majority of such claims to be fantasy, no let's advertise for Arabs to come forward and make claims against us because they would never countenace the idea of telling a lie for monetary gain now would they? It is another example of a weak, pathetic, lily livered Government kow- towing to the PC brigade, a Government happy to send us into battle from the comfort of their clubs and fireside armchairs and then expect it all to go smoothly, for noone to get killed (apart from our own people who die rather well don't ya think), politicians and lawyers who have never seen or heard a shot fired in anger now sit and pontificate, people who have no idea about the fog of war, the fear,. the desperation, the fight to survive. It makes me sick!!

David I was just about post a rant on this very subject after hearing the crap coming over Radio 4 about murderouse military personnel ,they had an old Colonel who commanded in Afganistan advocating your argument about the Iraqis and their fictitious claims . Can you remember that politician stating our people going into Helmand province without a shot being fired ,the injured in the thousands and the killed in the hundreds later thro poor equipment and leaders who were feckin useless . Yes our politicians think that war is like a game of cricket ,you'll all shake hands after the game and the losers will go away and hide ,the reality is Union flag covered coffins of our brave men and woman who pay the price when politicians fuck up flying into an RAF station . Yes lies lies and more lies and the bill is paid by our Armed Forces ,considering it's a 102 years since found a way to slaughter each other on a mass scale nothing has changed !!!!!

The persons who should, and must, be accused and tried and put away for life are NOT our brave young men and women in our magnificent Armed Forces, but the legal types who are pursuing these unproven accusations against our Servicemen and women. How can they prove which serviceman or servicewoman fired which weapon at which ENEMY soldier, using which bullet in what location at what time on which day??? This action must be stopped by our lily livered leader (?) Cambam NOW, and he must then tell ALL legal eagles that the armed forces of this United Kingdom follow the rules of combat against our enemies honestly, and not like the murderous loonies who are at present determined to destroy us and our way of life. Cameron must also tell all our enemies that we will always go after the perpetrators of attacks against us within the terms of war, unlike the terrorists that these scum are. Therefore Cameron MUST order the MOD and all parties directly or indirectly involved in any way to stop this farce, as of NOW, and continue our legal right to defend ourselves against ANY attack upon us. All these so called "legitimate cases", which they are not, must now be stopped, and that UK will NOT take action against ANY servicemen or women from UK, for doing their duty. If the legal bodies in either country continue to proceed with these cases, then this UK government will take legal action against them, since any British legal people who continue with these unproven and unprovable cases are acting outside the law, and therefore liable for trial/imprisonment instantly. Those who are behind this farce are money grabbing thieves and PARACITES.

I can not believe that lawyers in this country would even consider taking action against a single British soldier, male or female, for doing their duty, as they are ordered by the Military of the UK. It has now gone beyond resolving REAL and IDENTIFIABLE crimes (which nobody could prove after so long anyway), to the pie in the sky guesswork of money seeking BRITISH lawyers acting on suspiciously unproven war crimes against the enemy that our troops had been ordered to fight on behalf of the UK and all its residents. The only solution to these sort of disgusting money chasing lawyers acting against their own countrymen would be to sack the lot of them, never to practice law again, anywhere in the world. An even better reaction to their behaviour would be to pressgang these loons into a special unit, which would be the spearhead of any future actions of the British Army. Let these loons try to defend themselves, and see how long they last until they throw away their weapons and try to creep home to mummy. They have no idea of how the real world behaves, therefore they should not even be allowed to practice their ideas of the law of this land of ours in a loony bin. In fact, Cameron should force through a law NOW which forces these so called lawyers to be conscripted into a special unit called up for active service against IS and its associates. Then see how they respond to action in a theatre of war. They are avaricious parasites the lot of them. They should be turned into members of the dirtiest, smelliest, poorly paid, and most hated bunch of lunatics ever to appear on the face of this Earth, and be responsible for clearing up all the things the normal people do not deserve to be forced to clear up. Pie in the sky, as I have said, but something has to change immediately to halt these parasitic lawyers preying on their own countrymen.

Bob, When I was in Belfast with IBM after leaving 3DG, during da "trubbls",   2 0f us were there, me and Roger Bellingham, to make sure the computer control systems for the official voting systems were always working properly, and one of the songs of the day was "we gotta get out of this place" but our police escorts made sure we did NOT do a runner back to England. They must have been the biggest and toughest cops we ever saw, so we stayed!!! We flew back to Liverpool by Air Fungus on Bonfire Night....Hot Stuff coming up at us, Happy days....

During one tour of NI, a stint at the Maze (then called Long Kesh) had me, (ME !?!), accused of hurting some terrorist  (a convicted murderer of a squaddie), during a compound search. After the tour, I was sent back to face trial in Belfast, (unarmed & unescorted too !) - must admit, it was squeaky bum time, their lawyers were pushing hard & my Army one had said I didn't have a leg to stand on. Fortunately, just prior to entering the Court Room both lawyers reached an agreement to "settle out of court", (money talks eh), & I was free to celebrate with the SBS pals I'd met on HMS Belfast (my "digs" for the trial period) - boy, could they sup !! Typical of all the highly paid idiots who are called the UK Judiciary, John, they are only in it for the very high salaries they get but do not deserve. I am truly glad that you never got any undeserved stripey sunburn!!! (by the sun through the cell bars...) The only common sense people left in UK are the normal working people who get a millionth of these lawyers OTT pay. All lawyers should be investigated, and punished if they have done wrong with their use of the law. They are criminal in their activities in all these cases. How do we contact Cameron to demand that he orders that NO service personnel will be prosecuted by the money grabbing morons in the UK legal profession?? Do NOT hold your breath, folks...

The UK is the ONLY country that allows and promotes  such injustices to be heaped upon its armed forces. This Government, for all its shallow promises of military covenants et al, set the IHAT  Inquiry up. It is obvious that a Government that is seen to be supportive of paying compensation to spurious and vexatious claimants will attract EXACTLY that, a host of fake claims perpetuated by a host of ambulance chasing rotten to the core lawyers. Who, in their right mind, would want to be a serving member of our armed forces in this present era? Does anyone see or hear of similar witch hunts in the USA or France, Germany? No, no and no because we alone are governed and controlled by the absurdities of the PC brigade, the compensation culture and the weak kneed, lily livered prats who sent our young folk to fight unwinnable wars, in second rate equipment with third rate political support and then, to add salt into the wound, organised unendless investigations into actions our brave forces took to save their own or their comrades' lives!! I am incensed by the apparent indifference to it all, the smarmy, slimy platitudes and the faux hand wringing of our politicians. As an aside, the new Labour Shadow Defence Minister even claims to have held "honorary lt Col" rank because she once defended a soldier in a courts martial. Meanwhile Livingstone is heading up a Labour defence review and saying we should leave NATO. the lunatics have taken over the asylum folks. There aren't many advantages in getting old (er) but no longer being a hostage to fortune of politicians and prats is certainly one of them.

David, Our leaders are too scared of their own shadows, never mind having the guts to defend our brave military service personel in all these non proven cases. Cameron must halt this money chasing by lawyers, and he could do it in five minutes if he had the guts As you say, no other country allows witch hunts like this against their Armed Forces, so why is Cameron in a minority of one??? Probably too frightened of upsetting his equally mad, brainless and wimpy MP's.
