Ridiculous to the sublime threa

Totally agree Bob - Tusker & Barnier whinge about lack of progress, yet seem hell bent on putting obstacles in the way of realistic negotiations. They seem to want to dictate over the Irish border outcome - who are they to tell us how to secure OUR border ? Ireland voted to join ( & remain) in the EU, voted to use the Euro as their currency & so in my opinion have no rights to expect preferential treatment from the UK. If that border isn't controlled it will surely become an open gateway for immigrants from other countries to continue their path onto the mainland, the very problem our exit from the EU is meant to prevent. Maybe Ireland should also exit the EU, the problem could be sorted then !?! I reckon the intransigence of the EU will create a No Deal situation, something I'm not averse to - the money saved by not kowtowing to the EU's ridiculous financial demands will tide us over admirably until we get our own trade deals in place, & despite the doom n gloom merchants, France and Germany will still want desperately to sell us their cars, knowing that punitive trade tariffs will stifle their sales dramatically. Japan & South Korea will steal their sales if they do, with the excellent quality of their cars these days meaning British buyers would be lost forever to both the Germans and French, something they'll know and will want to avoid at all costs. So EU , bring it on, we'll prove the British bulldog spirit is alive & kicking, ready to take you on, and WIN, again ! John (JKW)
