There are now over 100,000 signatories to a UK petition wanting Donald Trump banned from entering the UK - Why, for God's sake !?!
All he's done is state his honest (by politicians standards anyway ) opinion, which is obviously finding favour with a huge proportion of the US electorate.
I don't remember such an outcry when that hook handed scumbag (Abdul Hamza or similar) was preaching his hatred openly on the streets of London - where were the 100,000 petitioners then ? Mind you, I wonder how many of these are Muslims who signed the petition !
Anyway, my point is, what happened to freedom of speech - surely it works both ways, and not just for the Muslim community ?

Now 360,000 John!! Trump is a Grade A f***wit in my opinion to be honest. We have Corbyn they have Trump, they are just at the opposite polar extremes of the political spectrum!! BUT; in a similar vein to much of the rhetoric of our own Nigel Farage, Trump's recent words contain more than an element of good sense; if people just step back from the racist bandwagon for the moment. We all recall the words of an eminent muslim cleric from a couple of years ago when he said; "not all muslims are terrorists but sadly all terrorists are muslim." I think Trump's recent statement on banning muslims from entering the USA was based on that very principle. He believes a ban on muslims entering the US to be the only practical way of stemming the tide of terrorist acts. Trouble is; he forgets that the vast majority of people gunned down in the US are killed by NON MUSLIMS but his words hold resonance with many Americans. That aside, We are all now living in western societies where politicians are petrified to speak their minds, scared witless to tell it how it is, societies where we are inhibited in our right to free speech, where anything and everything is labelled racist or discriminatory if we seek to live by our beliefs and our own cultural heritage. Trump is clever, you don't get to be a self made billionaire without being extremely astute. He has taken a very carefully calculated risk in making his latest controversial statement, he is revelling in the publicity which not even HIS billions could normally buy him. Will he ever be President? Not in a million years in my opinion. Is he right to spout such inflammatory rhetoric? It's HIS opinion and HIS right to say what he thinks in my view. Who knows, in years to come, if we won't all rue the failings of our relevant national Governments to stem the tide of radical islamisation that is now threatening the world. We can't blame the vast majority of every day, peaceful muslims for the acts of the minority terrorist radicals BUT we have to do more than we are doing at present to counter the ever increasing threat from these scum. Perhaps Trump is trying to get those in power to start to do just that. He has certainly dragged the issue into the public arena....globally!!
