What keeps you sane

Now your going to say "what's he on about" or words to that effect ????. As we all know this summer has been a disaster for outside activities, now we have just had the grandchildren visit for the last 3 weeks. They love it here in rural Ireland, they live in or near very large cities so the silence here is outside their usual day( as my son would say you can hear a cow fart at 200 yards) anyway getting back to this summer. No trampoline (too wet)no football for a great part of day,(wet)quad bike (wet) badminton (wet) so outside was too wet eeerrrrmmm!!! Here's the saviour, well not so much a saviour, but a time consuming activity, the Internet or to be exact modern games on iPad,tablets whatever .Hold on a minute you say what about TV,DVDs etc ,so let's eliminate TV for a starter ,if you want to cook, need a doctor, buy a house grow veggies yep all day TV is great but not our younger generations type!!!(yes DVDs I've a cupboard full mostly action adventure, once you've seen one ,well you get my drift) .So back to the vexing question how do you keep the modern youngsters occupied on wet miserable August day??? The youngest easy a thing called a DS ,then she asked you what would like to eat ,this was her cookery game, the older ones once the Xbox had been played for a few hours it was "YouTube " and then howls of laughter cos some idiot has done/posted a really stupid video. Now that's the youngsters taken care of what the adults ??? So we are on either our smart phone (glasses on) or iPad ,now I've had it with Facebook, this site normally takes me only a short time (unless I'm complaining etc about news items) the games available are in some cases impossible to play unless you've got an account ,money money ,I suppose the favourite is free cell a form of solitaire, killing bubbles or saving pets are great for the younger lot but a simple game of cards , or a good book on my kindle ,now why didn't I think of that ???????

Avoiding the BBC TV and radio, and its full on left wing (being polite there, cos it is Sunday) and its hanger-on loonies. There are more of their ilk than snowflakes in a week long blizzard.

Actual cost to those under 75 is £145. But worth about a billionth of that really. And Corbyn wants even the over 75's to pay in full. Typical "peoples champion" I do not think...
