When will Korea cross the Red line

It's a lot like the Cuban Crisis all over again, the "bluff or double bluff" scenario, but unlike JFK / Khrushchev, this time there's one particularly unstable character involved, maybe even two! John (JKW)

The problem, as I see it, is complex. Kim Il Jung is a rabid megalomaniac. Trump is a egotistical fool. But for all Trump's rhetoric, in my opinion he is right in one thing. Kim has to be stopped BEFORE he has full blown nuclear ICBMs capable of reaching the US and other strategic NATO targets. Kim has progressed North Korea's nuclear build up on the back of too many empty threats by the US. Once he has a full blown nuclear arsenal he will be a global threat of monumental magnitude. He is so power crazy and harbours such hatred of the US that he is capable of risking the destruction of his entire country for any perceived insult or personal affront. A man who had his uncle killed by firing a huge artillery shell at him, who likely organised the assassination of his brother, who's wife hasn't been seen for many months after she displeased him and a man who has executed anyone who disagrees with him or fails to acknowledge his supreme being adequately enough is clearly a psychopath and a very dangerous one at that. The issue is, when is the right moment to take a firm stand against him? The longer Trump prevaricates the stronger Kim becomes and the greater danger he poses to he world.

There's a post going the rounds on Facebook from a democratic senator in the USA stating that " if North Korea bombs the USA ,will Trump take them to a nuclear war "  just think about it . If they bomb you are you going to sit on your hands if you were Trump ,eeeerrrrrr boooooooooooooom !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kim detests Japan as much as he does the US. Remember Japan occupied and subjugated  North Korea for almost 45 years. Kim's father also fired a missile over Japanese territory some years ago. I am undecided on whether or not Kim is posturing and taunting  the US to gain kudos with his people, but knows where the red line is, or whether he is actually mad enough and psychotic enough to provoke a nuclear war. So if we extrapolate MY uncertainty as a hopefully reasonably intelligent and sane person and look into D Trump's mindset, what would we likely discover? Well again I am uncertain! Is Trump also posturing? Is he really prepared to take that final step, a step that could ignite the mother of all wars?  My gut instinct is that Kim IS psychotic enough to push the boundaries too far. I also feel that if he isn't stopped BEFORE he has full military grade nuclear capability we might live to regret it. China and Russia are key to this whole issue. If Trump feels those two countries won't intervene in any  preemptive US military retaliation against NK then I believe he might just risk doing so. I have a degree of sympathy with Trump on this issue it's a classic 'damned if you do damned if you don't' situation. It is a global threat whichever way you look at it!!

I would venture to suggest NK has now crossed the red line with the lack of any coordinated and forceful response serving only to encourage it further. I would not want to get my house on discounting the possibility of Kim pushing the US into a major military response anytime soon.

Today's Irish Daily Mail has a double page on various missiles that NK has and now they have a  bomb big enough to threaten all its neighbors plus a third of the world upto the Suez Canal. Yes this guy is dangerous, yes he has a big toy ,yes he's pushing the boat out with our friend Donald and the Japanese ,question will he be stupid enough to press the button. Thinking back to the intelligence on Sadam and WMD and how that was wrong ,this is completely another story,we know the NKs hate Japan from its history and they've not forgiven the US for the war of the 50's defeating the grandfather of the current nut in power ,or has this gone and run its  course . The scenario is I've got a big stick and I'm playing with it to show everyone I'm a big boy now or will they/him push it toooo far and get annihilated.
