Alec I was Major Knot-Knotleys driver when Dave had the accident ,Bob Lewis was on the crew of the Sallycan l think he was the poor driver .On that day we must have spent 2/3 hours with the German police/medics till the body was recovered my boss (Knotley) was really good in a crisis as we were all shook up .Like you I went off to a new regiment (14/20 KH ) later . Nice to see your still on terrier firmer and on site

hello Bob, nice to hear from you, l have lots of memories of Cyprus Libya and Germany, still have some pics kicking around, l will try to post them, some while ago Dave's son posted a request on information on his dad, l remember at the time of the accident he was just a baby, a sad time, l did reply to him giving as much information as l could. After leaving the Carbs l never settled in the 13th/18th, finished up in trouble and just bided my time. l was wondering if you went to the 14th/20th you must have known the Eldon twins Chris and Pete, they both live in Wareham, the both joined the Dorset police, Pete is retired like me but Chris is still serving, l remember crossing paths with Chris on the lrish border border when we were both doing a tour, he was on a salad can there, l had been converted into infantry, still it was an experience that is hard to forget, it was a crazy time. Got lost in the Libyan desert with Pete, that was fun,lol all good memories take care mate.
