Subject: Seeking contacts
I
am interested in contacting any surviving members of the 3rd Carabiniers who
served with my late father, Sgt. Gerard (Jerry) Barriscale, in the 1950's
and 1960's, up to 1967/8 when the regiment was based at Chester.
Perhaps
this might be possible through the Regimental Association.
I
would be particularly interested in any photos & memories that they might
be willing to share, (scanned photos etc).
Any
assistance would be very much appreciated.
Jim,
Thanks
for your e-mail regarding information about comrades of my dad, Sgt Gerard
Barriscale .
I
have spent an enjoyable couple of hours on your excellent website but didn't
find too many familiar names.
I
think that my mother mentioned Bunny Thubron occasionaly. I have been in
contact with Mrs Maureen Beck, (who was a great friend of my mother), whose
husband was "Jock" Beck. I also have been in contact with Tommy
Byrne from Dublin who served with Dad. Other names that come to mind are the
Kelly's and the Ellerby's.
I
think dad served with HQ sqn and I remember him both on horseback and also
with "Ferret" armoured cars.
I'
ve attached a old army photo. Dad is on the right in the back row, perhaps you
can help I.D. the others, (in spite of the gasmasks).
I
look forward to hearing from you.
Regards,
Stephen
Barriscale.
