Bob, No problem at this end (I'm with Plus Net- very good they are too) with regards internet / broadband connection. I have experienced my PC doing a go-slow on occasion - I mean REALLY slow, almost going backwards (!?!), but have learned by switching it off and pulling the power lead out from the back (easier than turning off at the plug in my case), it invariably re sets itself & gets back up to speed when re connecting again. Handy tip ; If you want to check your broadband speed, use the BT Wholesale Speed Test to check on the speed to your router from outside supply, and the Which Broadband Speed Test (both free & simple to use) to check the speed from your router to your PC. I found this out the hard way, getting vastly different results from each service & couldn't understand why - this is how I discovered the "go slow" problem was from my PC & not the broadband supplier, and as I said, unplug and the problem was solved. Mick - good luck with solving your leak problem, hope it's a water leak (bad enough) & not a gas leak ! Regards to all looking in, stay safe,   John (JKW)

My friendly clued up neighbour took my PC away for the night, installed a new "motherboard" and all my computer problems have been solved ! I've no idea what a motherboard does, or even what it looks like ( probably a mass of electronics condensed onto a board), but do know it's the best £50 I've spent (apart from my very 1st car, a Ford Prefect, which also cost £50 in '68 !!  John (JKW)
