This book has been written by Mick Stanley who served in the Carabiniers and The Royal Scots
Dragoon Guards for over 30 years from 1964 to 1995.
A limited number of books (200) have been printed but before general release it is the authors wish that all members of the Regiment have an opportunity to buy a copy. !
This hardback book has over 250 pages, 120 pictures, diagrams and maps and is printed and bound to the highest standard. The book includes a list of all officers and soldiers who served in the Regiment during the mutiny and where known the details of their families and careers. There is a chapter which describes 8 battles/skirmishes in which the Regiment took part. There is a fascinating and graphic 80 page article written by Private Rowland Dance who, as a member of the Regiment, served throughout the mutiny. There are also chapters on medical support, uniforms, equipment and cavalry tactics at that time.
