A Brief Moment In Time

It also puts things into perspective. I was going to post one of my ‘state of the nation’ diatribes. In fact I started one. But I was interrupted by some family stuff. I scrapped it in the end….too dismal. I have also stuck by my early self promise to studiously ignore every second of the pre election debates. Again too dismal!Good to see Ron James popping into the site. I was surprised no-one else responded to him. Freddy likely won’t know him.
There are 4 sites pertaining to SCOTS DG and its 2 immediate pre amalgamation antecedent regiments as far as I can see. Apart from this one there is the 3DG FB site, a Scots Greys site and ‘Scotlands Cavalry - Past and Present’. The latter easily seems to enjoy the most ‘traffic’. It has a fairly solid core list of frequent contributors and a not a few less frequent posters. Interestingly enough there are a few ex regimental officers amongst the membership.
THE most glaringly obvious difference twixt our site and SCPaP is the fact its numerically stronger and more disparate contribution base generates regular, almost daily traffic. The site IS very ‘Scottish’ …it must be said and is NOT in any way a substitute for our site. But I seriously struggle now to generate the enthusiasm or the material to post.
