Contributions to the site
Quote from fpeall on November 15, 2023, 11:48 amA big thank you to those who have contributed financially to not only the annual fees for running the site but to enable us to install new software to upgrade the forum site. We got off to a bit of a false start but everything sorted now and the result is plain for everyone to see. What we need now is for more of you (and we now know you are there) to contribute to the site! No need for politics but what about some tales from the old days. Let's have some of those memories before we are too old to remember! Freddy

Quote from Mick (Stockton) on November 18, 2023, 8:39 pmSorry about my last post chaps/Freddy it was rather short but I am still trying to catch up after My & Mary's own "ANNUS HORRIBILIS" to coin a phrase by our late Queen Elizabeth. We are trying to get over a year of Funerals & bad news.....so here goes Freddy as requested..."Rattles" now there is a name that is a blast from the past. I remember Rattles [Brian Massey] from years of working with him in Regimental Tech. He was definitely a Character and I do remember one night when I was the Guard Commander doing my rounds and who should appear before me seemingly covered in blood- I later found out it was red wine - but Rattles and he was absolutely plastered, so being a fellow Tech man myself decide take him to his room.
I wandered inside of the block he was sat outside of to look for his abode (he did make Lancejack for a while so had his own room) as he had told me his name was on the door. Well anyone who remembers the single story accommodation blocks in Sennelager will know that the lights were on a timer and therefor I couldn't find his room [or so I thought] and upon returning to a (by then) giggling Rattles was told by him that he lived in the NEXT block along. (Well you did ask Freddy)......MICKEY S.
