Lt Col Roger Horne
Quote from DavidFullard on January 20, 2024, 12:55 pmSad news that Roger Horne has passed away. I always found Roger to be a quiet, kind man, a gentle man. I never heard him raise his voice or become angry. Roger was a superb horseman and ever willing to share his equestrian skills with others, he was a patient, very encouraging teacher. A tall, slim man Roger was always exceedingly smart.
I never heard a bad word spoken of Roger and I never heard him say a bad word about anyone else. There are few people I can say that about.
R.I.P. Roger you join the growing band of those of our ilk and generation who have sadly passed on.

Quote from Mick (Stockton) on July 12, 2024, 5:58 pmThanks David. I agree everything you said about Mr Horne(as I remember him) and also I remember him as a Captain (In Sennelager?) My recollection of him is when he joined the Regiment in Detmold as a subaltern [or has my recollection been "clouded" with time] anyway........ I do remember him as a slim tall Man with a dusting of grey in his hair or have I got it wrong AGAIN.
