Lt Col Roger Horne

Sad news that Roger Horne has passed away. I always found Roger to be a quiet, kind man, a gentle man. I never heard him raise his voice or become angry. Roger was a superb horseman and ever willing to share his equestrian skills with others, he was a patient, very encouraging teacher. A tall, slim man Roger was always exceedingly smart.
I never heard a bad word spoken of  Roger and I never heard him say a bad word about anyone else. There are few people I can say that about.
R.I.P. Roger you join the growing band of those of our ilk and generation who have sadly passed on.

Thanks David. I agree everything you said about Mr Horne(as I remember him) and also I remember him as a Captain (In Sennelager?) My recollection of him is when he joined the Regiment in Detmold as a subaltern [or has my recollection been "clouded" with time] anyway........ I do remember him as a slim tall Man with a dusting of grey in his hair or have I got it wrong AGAIN.
