Major SAB Edwards

I Emailed my condolences to Colonel Ben and Pippa today whilst having some ‘top up’ treatment in hospital. I received a charming and refreshingly humorous response which explained inter alia that it was such a relief that Ben’s dad had finally escaped, this being his 3rd escape attempt and it had finally gone to plan. Major SAB Edwards passed peacefully in his sleep on Saturday might. As Colonel Ben said ‘how perfect is that’.
I only knew SAB Edwards briefly but I never heard a bad word spoken of him in all of my service. I remember 2 years ago Colonel Ben told me his dad was in God’s Waiting Room. That wait is now over.
