Things That Annoy!
Quote from DavidFullard on December 7, 2023, 10:33 pmNew Thread. Let’s annotate 5 things that really annoy us!
Mine;
1. The pointlessness and huge cost of the Covid Inquiry
2. The continuing vilification of the Royal Family by Omid Scobie.
3. The still rising cost of energy products.
4. The certainty of a Labour Govt next year.
5. My peripheral neuropathy and falling off my bicycle.
Let’s see who joins in.

Happy to pinch your five!
1 is a given. 2. Omid Scobie is a puppet. The puppeteer spewing invective is the one and only Meghan Markle. I am sure Harry is harbouring a few doubts as to what he has let himself in for with his current lifestyle and estrangement from his family.
3 & 4 given
5. Any hints about treatment for peripheral neuropathy gratefully received providing it does not involve rapid and unexpected bicycle dismounts. Don't ride actually! Freddy

6) Agreed but nothing new. As far back as the 1980s our civilian lady clerk at the time had a penchant for displaying a lot of décolleté and she had plenty of it. She sat facing me. My raised eyes immediately fell on her bosoms every time I looked up. And you know that bloody Gorilla that grabs your head and forces you to stare at something you aren’t meant to... well it became too much. Quite apart from raised eyebrows from others who visited the office.
One day I decided to tactfully suggest she might choose less revealing tops to project a slightly more professional office appearance. She went ballistic. Wailing, ranting, humiliated, embarrassed ..the whole 9 yards of faux indignation. I confess I felt a bit ‘exposed’ myself. Long story short she was transferred elsewhere to a less ‘front office’ environment.7) It gladdens my heart that sometimes the law is NOT such an Ass. The recent Supreme Court Ruling that Westminster COULD overturn the Scottish Parliament’s bill allowing gender self determination and all that it entails, is a triumph of common sense over ridiculousness! In my opinion.

Quote from Cliff_C on December 26, 2023, 1:33 pmHope you all had a good Xmas.
One thing did annoy me on Xmas eve. ASDA putting pallet loads of Easter eggs at their main entrance.
Or the plain greed of the companies, in M & S we seen a seafood platter for sale at £115. We bought a bigger one last June for £27. I suppose there lost more examples.

What they are trying to promote beats me, it surely deters any normal punter wanting to enter the store - bring back the Comet chain I say, far better marketing and more helpful staff & product information. Quote from DavidFullard on December 29, 2023, 6:55 pmIn 2006 Blair’s Government amended the compensation scheme for persons wrongly convicted of crimes, who served prison time. The amendment was to deduct food and accommodation charges from any compensation payments granted.
That amendment was recently rescinded by Rishi Sunak but not retrospectively!
