Thugs In Uniform
Quote from DavidFullard on July 26, 2024, 9:26 pmI write of the brutal assault committed by a GMP armed police officer upon an arrested man [ read prisoner] at Manchester Airport recently.
There had been an altercation. Police were called. I have no idea what then transpired but fast forward to the footage we can witness. An Asian male is lying face down on the airport floor. He is defenceless, helpless. He is just lying there. He is no danger to anyone. Not the police, not to the public, not to himself. An armed response cop, Taser drawn, is standing a few feet away from the man, just standing there doing nothing. The cop suddenly leaps forward and drop kicks the man to the side of the head. He follows that up with a vicious stomp upon the man’s head and a knee in his back.
I have no idea what prompted the assault. Perhaps the man goaded him, swore at him? I don’t know. BUT unlike the Mayor of Manchester, the Police Federation et al I don’t care a fig what happened prior to that assault. I don’t have to wait for the criminal investigation or the internal inquiry to conclude before forming an opinion on this. There aren’t 2 sides to it. There can’t be. The video evidence is clear and unambiguous. A GMP cop deliberately and brutally criminally assaulted a totally helpless, defenceless prisoner. A man de facto in his care once detained. Not content with that the same cop then assaults a second man sat on a bench with his hands on his head! We won’t go into the same cops assaulting some witnesses to the events later because the reports on that issue are vague at present.
Some folk are saying. ‘but a female officer sustained a broken nose’. The Chief Constable said the cops were in danger of having their weapons taken The man lying on the ground, restrained and incapable of having a pee let alone steal a weapon. Even IF he personally broke the female cop’s nose he had been arrested, handcuffed and placed in a position of helplessness,
What happened prior to the cop’s assault on the man is totally irrelevant given the circumstances. The cop is clearly unfit to wear a uniform let alone carry a weapon. Officials are already trying to mitigate the assault. If we allow police to get away with despicable crimes like this then we are halfway to anarchy or Russian type ‘justice’
As an aside the cop committed the assault in the full glare of the public eye. He knew that. He likely knew he was being filmed. Yet he still broke the laws he had sworn to uphold with total impunity. Who knows what he has done out f the public eye. He seemingly faces a raft of accusations concerning non adherence to Force policies.
So there we have it. A significant number of people seem to believe the man on the ground deserved the kicking. 2 Reform MPs said the police should be congratulated. That is North Korean mentality! What have we come to. GMP is already the subject of a damning Inquiry into unlawful arrests and their degrading treatment of female prisoners. The latter includes unconscious female prisoners awakening in their cells nude and strip searches of children.
I have written of the scary state of the Met and GMP before. I am as concerned about the number of folk finding the assault OK as I am about the criminal act itself.

Quote from DavidFullard on July 27, 2024, 9:19 pmI have now seen the full video of this event. The man lying on the ground who was kicked/stomped on the head had undoubtedly attacked police shortly beforehand. He had been justifiably and legally tasered. He was lying prone on the ground, immobilised from the taser. The actions of the cop who kicked him are, as I describe above, nonetheless equally if not more illegal and totally brutal.

Quote from jkwebster06 on July 28, 2024, 9:06 pmI agree the actions of the policeman who kicked / stamped on the Asian guy was bang out of order but in mitigation, he (Asian) was the one who jumped on the back of the stamping cop who fell backwards together putting the Asian on the floor. He was not handcuffed at that stage, or when being kicked, but I think had been tasered. The female PC had been struck in the face (which was later found to have broken her nose) - the fact a fellow Officer , being female, was hurt would obviously rile the other police , all of whom had been involved in the altercation too, so feelings were obviously running high. The Asians, to put it bluntly, behaved like animals, showing no respect for authority or indeed, the female race. The result was one particular PC going overboard in his efforts to subdue / control the aggressor and will have his career blighted, if not ended, due to a rush of blood to his head. These things happen in life, sometimes mobile phones / social media can be problematic !! John (JKW)

Quote from Bob Riley on July 29, 2024, 9:57 amJohn I completely agree with you,yep the cop lost it due the reaction for WHAT THIS IDIOT did to HIM and HIS FELLOW POLICE WOMAN. This a NORMAL RESPONSE to being ASSAULTED by a IDIOT .

Quote from DavidFullard on July 29, 2024, 6:37 pmI guess we will have to agree to disagree. I don’t believe the head kick/head stomp on a flat out incapacitated man was normal for anyone let alone a cop.The Asian wasn’t an idiot he was a mindless, disgusting thug. But still no reason for a cop to commit ABH on him.

Rules are rules! I bet at his interview the cop mentioned something about his belief in upholding the law. Not all police are the same as the guilty cop! As said, he lost control of his temper but aren't they trained for this type of scenario. We shall probably find that a lot of the training is CBT and tick the box training is a lot different from real live training.
Its just a pity that nowadays a lot of "younger folk" have little respect for the police and also no fear of the law.
At an early age kids soon learn that the police can do nothing! that there is no police and the yobs now consider the police as fair game. They will easily take the police on, what can a wee police women do to a thug? There was a time when the police had a height restriction and something as simple as that can have an effect on whether someone will take on a cop. Even the sight of the police is viewed different! They go around dressed like tramps, the cargo trousers and tee shirt might be practical but how someone is dressed can have a affect on how you view a person. Also, maybe if the women had been a bit taller and more able to physically look after herself then it would not have gone this far.
That yob should have known that if he assaults the law then its banged up in a prison with no phone and very little in the form of comforts. There needs to be a clear deterrent like hard labour even as much as the return of the death sentence.
Some people do not deserve the "human rights" which deny their victims. Me personally, I think the yob should have been beaten to a pulp with a pick elf but maybe that's too far and rules are rules.
All the best, Cliff
